Jacob: Oh hi Deimos. Long time no punch. Just a couple of questions is all. I would like to note though that should you lie , even if you win money out of me you're going straight back to jail.
-He reclines back- Okay then. Would you mind telling me a bit about your attorney? Slant, was it?
-Deimos grunts and takes a seat opposite Jacob, whilst O'Sullivan goes and stands in the corner, fiddling with his revolver.-
Deimos: Yeah. What about him?
Jacob: What do you know about him? Anything, really. Nothing is too small. I think it's just that a lot of people are uncomfortable with this phantom prosecutor, and how little is known. Since he's helping you out I thought we may as well just... help fill that wiki page or something.
-Deimos gives a wheezy chuckle.-
Deimos: Heh. "Phantom prosecutor."
-After a few moments spent enjoying his own private joke, he looks back up at Jacob.-
Deimos: He's a friend of a friend. Dunno much about him myself, really. Not the kind of guy you really wanna grab a beer with. He's Sinn, though, I know that much. Bloody miser, too. 'Parently he's never heard of mates' rates. Why're you so bothered 'bout him?
Jacob: So then... you have no idea why he took your case? As a prisoner I would imagine if he's going to help you he'd have done it without charging you a royalty...
-O'Sullivan speaks up.-
O'Sullivan: I should point out that Slant's not a state attorney. He works private.
Deimos: Yeah, I know why he took my case - 'cause I asked him to.
Jacob: You asked for an attorney to take your case who you knew almost nothing about, than almost no one knows anything about? Rather reckless if you ask me.
-Deimos chuckles to himself again.-
Deimos: You've seen his record, haven't you? There ain't nothing I need to worry about. 'Sides, I know I can trust him.
Jacob: That's just it. I only recently have seen his record. I don't see why you should know about him unless you were looking through an attorney catalog just to spite me like this, I don't...
-Sighs- Okay then. Why? If it's costing you so much money why go to all this trouble?
-Deimos' chuckle gives way to a barely-restrained guffaw.-
Deimos: Giving you a headache, am I? Good. Let's keep it that way. As for why I'm still pressing charges... well, if all goes to plan, I'll be getting twice as much money back and you'll be locked up somewhere nice and tight where you won't be such a thorn in our side.
Jacob: How quaint. However I assure you if there's one thing I'm good at, it's messing up plans. I'm done talking to you. Officer, you can remove him.
Deimos: "Remove him"? I know my rights. You're the one about to be locked up here, not me. Fortunately for you, I'm done here anyway. With any luck I'll have blown this dump within a week. Make sure he gets a nice cold cell, will you?
-He stands up and walks out of the room. O'Sullivan grimaces.-
Jacob: ... Dammit. I need something. Anything...
.... Wait. .... When he was talking about him... He was amused by the phantom thing...
I think I'm going to need to see what I can get from Slant himself. After that it's all up to Zeal...
