Not necessarily DS Straw, they've released event mon with the item or stone needed to evolve them before. There is a chace you just have to have a mega stone and they are akin to Key Items. But who knows

Hmmm... Since the Mewtwo having two Mega Forms was confirmed by a source that has proven fairly reliable, and this is apparently from the same source... I guess I'll comment on this.
124 mons is a good number. I was hoping for 120-ish.
45 Mega Evolutions? Hopefully we'll see them for G5 mons. And we also see some real evolutions.

Hmmm... assuming any of this is true...
That means is't something fairly bad, no pun intended.
First, only certain "select" Pokémon will get Megas. Okay, surely the starters and Pikachu plus the ones already confirmed, most likely the Damn Pikaclone and Regional Bird as well. And... that'd be about it? Gotta bet that Nidos and Scyther / Onix don't get Megas (and that drops the value of the game about 2/3rd for me).
Next, too many Legendaries. I usually don't mind but when it says that it'll have more Legendaries than any previous regions, then one simply does the math on Sinnoh and or Unova that had a very high Legendary-to-dex ratio (and we all know how did that end up for D/P) and then you take account of "only" 120-something new mons. 14-18 of those slots are already occupied by starters, Damn Pikaclone and Regional Bird.
And third... awwww @ Yveltal. Hopefully it doesn't fall under the usual Death stereotypes. (Also, m-muh Dusknoir! :c)
