Basic Notes
There will be no catching Pokemon during this arc, for in-universe reasons explained later on. If you want a Delta on your team, you'll have to:
* Get it cleared with everyone else. I had to with Igneous, so everyone else who would want one needs to go through the same process no matter who they are.
* Have a good in-universe reason for why the Delta wants to follow you around away from Holon. This is the much easier part of the process.
Additionally, all Pokemon you wish to participate in the arc with must be in your team at the beginning. Same in-verse reasons as above.
Geography
We're using this map:
As for details...
Location
Holon is located north of Kanto, with Joulant Town connected to Cerulean Cape. That happens to be the only reliable way of reaching the region, since there are no ports.
Delta Islands
This set of 17 small islands, each of which could have its own name, for those who want to contribute, protrudes from west of Joulant Town. Each one is prominently inhabited by Deltas of a specific type, but you're free to have the secondary type of any mon be whatever you want. The islands are arranged like this:
Unnamed Island
The island to the far west of the map has several different species, but the most notable is the massive amount of Delta!Golett and Golurk. Essentially, it's Umbra's Bionicle Shout Out island.
Distant Island Chain
These are incredibly far away, beyond the horizon. On an island in the exact center of the island chain, there's a strange circle of crystals around a crater. Near-identical crystals have been found on the main landmass.
Mirage Forest
This massive forest covers almost half of the region, even completely surrounding Holon City. Rumors are, a Mew appears here, but nobody knows for sure. Except for the J-Team, who will no doubt meet it at some point.
Holon Ruins
These ruins may seem trivially small from a bird's-eye view, but in fact extend deep into the Mirage Forest, and even underground. They used to be a city for a large civilization... one which existed around 600 years ago, in fact.
Somewhere deep within the ruins, there is a path which, to Palkia's dismay, leads to one of the distant islands to the northeast.
Oh, and there might be magical artifacts. Such as armbands. Or any other items you can think of. You just have to search for them.
Mt. Ohmeg
This mountain has been dug through for years, in a search for those strange crystals. The search was called off when the crater from the Distant Island Chain was found, but the tunnels still exist. The tunnels link Cergus Town, the area near Lake Volata, the Mirage Forest, and the Calor Desert.
At the northernmost end, a spring runs water into Lake Volata, which flows through the Mirage Forest and down into Lake Holon, cutting Holon City in half.
Calor Desert
Not much is to be found here, but the trek through the desert is the only way to reach the unnamed island with the Delta!Golurk. Hope you brought plenty of water.
Warrior Clans
In the area between Lake Holon and the bulk of the Mirage Forest, four Clans of feline mons live. Being territorial, no doubt they give visitors hell just for attempting to get to Holon City. The four clans are:
WindClan
Led by a pure Flying-type Delta!Persian
Inhabit the open fields in the center
Mostly Flying- and Normal-types
RiverClan
Led by a pure Water-type Delta!Delcatty
Inhabit the edge of Lake Holon
Mostly Water- and Ice-types
ShadowClan
Led by a non-Delta!Liepard
Inhabit the area around the main path to Holon City
Mostly Dark- and Ghost-types. Poison-types are also fairly common.
ThunderClan
Led by a non-Delta!Luxray
Inhabit the edge of the Mirage Forest
Very diverse type-wise, but a large number are Electric-types.
Clan mons, like most Deltas, tend to have stats that differ from normal mons.
WindClan
RiverClan
Higher Special stats
Lower Physical stats
ShadowClan
High offensive stats
Frail defenses and HP
ThunderClan
Mythology-wise, they believe the Mirage Forest Mew was the original member of StarClan, which consists of cats who had ascended to a Higher Plane of Existence. Additionally, they hold the Legendary Beasts in high regard, although Suicune is significantly less respected than Raikou and Entei.

Meowth line
Sneasel line
Skitty line
Zangoose
Absol
Shinx line
Glameow line
Purrloin line
Eeveelutions are not allowed, unfortunately; they're foxes, which, in the books, are not to be trusted. Sorry, Espeon lovers.
Clan Battles
Given the nature of a "clan", battles with them will mostly be in groups. Seeing as the arc coincides with Conquest, it would be a nice link between the two if the Clans had kept the battle style alive. Due to this, Clan mons will also have Conquest abilities rather than main-series abilities. While that's something we still need to figure out on that half of the arc, no doubt we'll have figured it out by the time the clans appear.
I'll personally be practicing writing Clan battles before they are needed in the first place, taking elements from both Conquest and the Warrior Cats books.
Magnetic Storms
Magnetic storms are near-constant in Holon. They screw with electronics, and all Pokeballs will malfunction fairly early on. All Pokemon will be forced out of their Pokeballs. This is why catching Pokemon during the course of the arc won't be possible.
Deltification
Turning a Pokemon into a Delta can happen one of three ways:
Hatching/Evolution
These are the points when the Pokemon's body rapidly changes; they are also quite vulnerable to external stimuli such as Delta radiation during these times.
Extended Exposure
We'll be leaving Holon before this can happen, but it can easily be implemented into backstory. Be warned, this is the most likely to cause ill effects.
Delta Crystals
With enough crystals and enough energy - energy which may well have to be provided by Mirage!Mew - one can instantly Deltify a Pokemon, or revert a Delta from such.
Delta!Legendaries
Delta legendaries are obviously an iffy subject, but there are a few which could be fairly reasonable.
Delta!Mew
Essentially, the Mew rumored to appear in Mirage Forest is a Mew with Multitype, minus the need for Plates. Instead, it Transforms into a Mew of any type it wishes. This is the only definite one.
Delta!Deoxys
It exists in the TCG. Perhaps whatever meteorite it came on might be the original source of the crystals Scientists had been studying?
Delta!Latii, Delta!Shaymin, and any other "plural" Legendaries you can think of
They'd be exclusive to the Distant Island Chain if they do appear at all.
Plot
To start, we need a reason to go in the first place. One possibility (and feel free to contribute your own):
One of the PCs finds out one of their ancestors was important in Holon, and go to the Holon Ruins to find out more
This provides a nice link to the concurrent Conquest arc. I may well have Ancestor!Alyssa be a Conquest!Holon native for this purpose if nobody else has ideas.
Then, GASP! Stuff happens, and we're stuck in Holon until we find a solution! Possibilities:
One or more J-Team mons have been Deltified, and are ''not'' happy about it.
It gives us a reason to explore the entire region, in an attempt to find a "cure".
Mon/Trainer Separation
Perhaps we got lost in the Mirage Forest. Perhaps someone kidnapped somemon. Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps. Point is, it's a nice way to implement that subarc plan. Only issue is, if it's the "getting lost" option, we're likely to stay in one place until we find each other again.
After Schroedinger's Number Of Trials, we finally solve our problems, and decide we've had enough of the place. And so, with new knowledge of the past, we return to Kanjoh, where we plan our next actions.
