Sarah's Room -- August 25

Sarah: Herby, no, don't--

-The door closes, leaving Sarah staring at it. Wordlessly, she turns her attention to the package. She hesitantly opens it-

Pueltown Hotel, Sarah's Room - 25/8/14

-Inside the package is a necklace with a pendant shaped like a Clear Bell. Closer inspection would reveal that the Clear Bell pendant is in fact a locket, one that appears to have something already tucked away inside of it.-

Pueltown Hospital - 26/8/14

Lucius: Excellent.

-Something that might pass for a smile on a more predatory creature forms on his face.-

Lucius: Titan's in for one hell of a shock, I can guarantee you that much. He's been getting away with this kind of shit for too long. Soon we're going to show him what happens when we decide to bite back.

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Pueltown Hotel, Sarah's Room - 25/8/14

-Upon opening the locket, two items fall out. The first is a picture barely an inch square in size, showing Lucius and Sarah riding on the Ferris Wheel in Nimbasa together. The second is a tiny rolled-up note that unfurls itself upon hitting the floor.-

So that I can be with you even when we're apart.

Pueltown Hospital - 26/8/14

Lucius: I've been waiting for a chance to bring Titan to justice for eight years now. Now that chance is finally here. Of course I'm eager. I'm doing this for the sake of everyone who's had to suffer because of him, especially Her-

-He stops himself.-

Lucius: Er... anyway, I'm sure you get the idea.

Pueltown Hospital - 26/8/14

"Right... By the way, there's the possibility Titan may be losing control of Neo-Galactic. I guess the members aren't very happy with their leader being beaten by a costumed teenager and an Auric and his girlfriend."

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Pueltown Hospital - 26/8/14

-Lucius snorts.-

Lucius: Titan letting things slip out of his control? I'll believe that when I see it. The man's a control freak of the first degree. Besides, it makes getting to Titan himself easier if half of his lackeys can't even be bothered to fight us.

433

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

"I suppose. Hopefully things will go better this time." said Sakura, sighing.

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Pueltown Hospital - 26/8/14

Luicus: They will. I'll be on the ground myself to make sure of that. This is my one chance to quit being useless and actually make a difference... I'm not going to mess it up. Not again.

-He turns away.-

Lucius: I should be getting back to Rasp Cavern now. We need to start preparing if we want to stand a chance against Titan and his goons... not to mention that there's something else I need to take care of first. You know where to find me if you need me.

-He starts walking off.-

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Sarah's Room

-Sarah looks at the picture, tears starting to well in her eyes. She reads the note, and then puts both back in the locket and tucks it under her shirt.-

Sarah: (I... can't let him get himself killed... He doesn't need to get revenge for me... Wolf was right, I don't need a knight in shining armor to protect me. It's time I start protecting myself.)

-She grabs her bag, digging Diane's armband out of it and putting the Rainbow Wing back in it. She leaves her room and heads outside.-

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Vientown - 25/8/14

-Some time after his ill-fated conversation with Sarah, the Auric Avenger is perched on a rooftop, looking out over the darkened townstead.-

The Auric Avenger: (...I have to stop Neo-Galactic and Illusion. Stop anything like this from happening again. Help my friends the only way I know how. Even if it means distancing myself from them, even if it means resorting to methods they'd consider extreme or underhanded... I'll do whatever it takes. I'm no hero, after all. I just happen to dress like one.)

Old Man: Oi, kid, gerrof my roof!

The Auric Avenger: In a minute! I'm trying to brood here! Jeez, you can't get any privacy these days...

Are you okay? What's going on? Why did your goons attack a nine year old girl and land her in the hospital?

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Pueltown - 26/8/14

-After a minute or two, Crewe's text receives a response.-

To: Crewe

Firstly, the assailants in the case you are referring to were not mere "goons". They were Excubitors, a group of specially trained and equipped operatives I formed in order to combat the recent surge in vigilante activity across Fiore and Almia. Their target was the individual known as Shingeko - the girl was injured when she attempted to intervene.

I assure you that if I were able to, I would order the Excubitors to cease their operations immediately. Unfortunately... I am not entirely in control of the matter anymore. My earlier attempts to put an end to one of our more ethically questionable projects were met with fierce resistance from the Administrators. They no longer respect my authority or respond to my orders. As shameful as it is to admit, I am now leader of Neo-Galactic in name only.

Neo-Galactic

-Mammor is busy in his office doing his normal intel gathering, hacking, and scheming for the general destruction of the J-Team in general routines. He can be approached if desired.-

[spoiler]I feel I should note that Mammor would be more supportive of Io just because it means he doesn't have to worry about hiding his revenge plots - that and Io's mentality, morals, and goals match his WAY more that Titan.

You can assist me best by helping to put an end to the corrupt organisation that I created. Like a malignant tumour, it has grown beyond my ability to control it, and now the only solution is to destroy it entirely before it spreads any further. Whatever consequences befall me as a result of this are mine to bear. I brought this fate upon myself. Should I die alongside Neo-Galactic, it will be a just end.

Pueltown - 26/8/14

To: Crewe

Outside of what you are doing already? Very little. If there was some better course of action, I would suggest it, but the truth is that I am beyond help at this moment. I am trapped in the eye of the storm, and to disturb my current position would be to invite destruction. I fear that you will have little success championing my cause amongst your friends after all the heinous deeds Neo-Galactic has committed in my name. Simply understand that the Administrators are the true threat and attempt to clarify the situation to others to the best of your ability, and you will have done all you can for me.

Io: Keep your voice down. You're not supposed to say that out loud, you know.

I still don't like it. If these guys are such a threat, then you're in a lot of trouble where you are. Are you sure you don't want to, like, kidnap you out of Neo-Galactic so you can go into hiding or something? I probably can't use the Corps for something like this without making Rayquaza mad, but I bet Chad would be willing to teleport you somewhere.

But I'll definitely tell the rest of the team.

I have not lived to my current age without knowing how to protect myself. There are still those amongst the rank and file who remain loyal to me, and whilst I maintain my position of mock command I can attempt to limit the damage done by Neo-Galactic's actions. I would much rather remain here and attempt to sabotage the machinations of the Administrators however I can than flee like a coward and live out the rest of my life in hiding. You may not believe that I deserve retribution, Crewe, but I do. When justice comes for me, I shall not run from it. I will fight to my last breath if need be, but I will not retreat.
