Sarah: Er, that... was just a friendly thing! Friends can be affectionate, can't they?
-An empathically competent person would be able to realize that's not why she did it.-
Triton: "I never said I didn't acknowledge that and that's part of what I was trying to do myself. My point is Shard is Shard and taking care of that person is what's important, regardless of who she really is. And no, I'm not saying you can put on a mask to do something and get away with it because you never wore it again, just-"
"...Okay, I have no idea what I'm trying to say with that, but I didn't know what you were trying to do and it really threw me off. I'm not used to attacking humans with anything but status moves anyway, so what should I have done? With you pinned down like that multiple times, I don't know why they wouldn't have been able to finish their mission and get away in the first place."
-The Auric Avenger sighs.-
The Auric Avenger: ...Whatever. It doesn't matter now anyway. They're gone, and I don't have any reason to be here any longer. I'm sweating buckets in this costume anyway. Time to blow this metaphorical popsicle stand. No doubt Titan's taking care of your travel arrangements. If I were you, Crow, I'd start to think about who's side you're really on.
-He sends out Maul, who blips the Avenger and Shrike away.-
-Whilst Lucius isn't empathically competent by any definition of the term, he can still tell that Sarah's intentions were perhaps not as platonic as she would like to pretend. He gives a small smirk.-
Lucius: ...You know, sometimes I wonder if this is how you felt back during our first trip to Unova. Not that I'm complaining, mind.
-Sarah pauses, still bright red.-
Sarah: Um... what "this" are you talking about? I mean, I can guess, but...
Triton: "...I already know that, Avenger, even if it seems like I don't."
-Crow sighs as the Avenger goes, then starts trying to get out of his own costume-
Crow: <Well... I managed to do what I was supposed to, but that didn't go at all like how I imagined...>
-He looks at one of the pieces of Shard's shattered mask and starts fiddling with it as he gets out his communicator and calls Titan-
Crow: <...The area's clear, Titan. Things didn't go quite as expected, but hopefully we should be able to salvage this area before Illusion does.>
-Titan's voice comes over the communicator.-
Titan: What do you mean, things didn't go quite as expected?
-Lucius' tone becomes somewhat evasive.-
Lucius: Uh... well, back in Unova, you were always the one without inhibitions, weren't you? Maybe that had to do with the novelty of the whole "being a girl" thing, but for a moment there it seemed like you were kind of back to acting like you used to, in a manner of speaking... I'm sorry, I'm not really making much sense here, am I?
Sarah: Oh, right... um, well, I guess... I dunno, it is hard to explain.
-She smirks slightly-
Sarah: It was kinda fun, though, being all flirty and you being all awkward. That... probably isn't going to happen anymore, though, because... well, you know.
Lucius: Yeah, it was. Though I wasn't really in much of a position to appreciate it at the time. I guess flirting's more fun when the person you're flirting with flirts back. Not that anyone I've ever flirted with has ever flirted back, with one kinda-sorta exception, but you get the idea. And seeing as we're friends and we both know that we're friends and that we're not ever going to be anything more than friends perhaps we could allow ourselves to be a little more affectionate with each other to use your way of describing it?
-His mouth seems to be running on autopilot by this point.-
Crow: <The Auric Avenger ended up having the same idea you did.>
-Sarah smiles a bit more and kisses Lucius on the cheek again-
Sarah: You mean something like that?
-She's still pretty darn pink-faced.-
Titan: ...Ah.
-His tone becomes a fraction chillier.-
Titan: I trust that you dealt with the situation in an... appropriate manner?
Lucius: Uh... yeah, like that, basically.
-It's worth noting that he's far more flushed than Sarah is by this point.-
Lucius: Dr Yamada - she's my new therapist, just so you know - keeps telling me that I need to be more open with people. I don't know if this is quite what she had in mind, but I reckon it's advice that we could both do with taking to heart.
-Sarah's smile, as well as her blush, continue to grow. That said, the latter is by no means any competition with Lucius's.-
Sarah: If it helps you, I'd be more than glad to take that advice. Hell, I'm glad to regardless~
Crow: <...If you mean 'Did I capture him', then no. I didn't get a chance to do that with the Illusion Members that were there either.>
Titan: ...Hrm. Unfortunate. I trust that he was left unharmed, at the very least?
-Lucius gives a faint smirk.-
Lucius: I figured you would be. After all, who could say no to someone as devilishly good-looking as I?
Crow: <He was. I made sure of that myself.>
-Sarah grins-
Sarah: You're flattering yourself again. I missed when you did that.
Titan: Good. That means that both factions were successfully deterred and that Neo-Galactic can safely proceed with salvage operations. In other words, your intervention can safely be considered a success.
Lucius: I have to take pride in something. Might as well be my boyish good looks.
Crow: <...Well, yeah, but I still feel like I failed or I could have done better.>
-Sarah raises an eyebrow-
Sarah: "Boyish"? Not "rugged" or any of the other words you've used in the past? I'm shocked.
Titan: How so?
-Lucius looks faintly indignant, something only accentuated by his blush.-
Lucius: Hey, I can be both boyish and rugged at the same time. Wise beyond my years and all that. It's possible. Just like it's possible for you to be both cute and pretty.
Crow: <Well, turns out we were both trying to get Shard to crack, but our methods of doing so were kinda different. He suddenly broke off her mask, I tensed up and that let her and the other Member escape.>
-Titan makes a thoughtful noise, going quiet for a moment.-
Titan: I see... did you happen to get a look at her face, by chance?
-Sarah smiles, her mostly-faded blush returning slightly.-
Sarah: You're too kind~ I don't think I deserve this sort of praise from such a ruggedly handsome guy such as you. Such a gentleman~
Crow: <Uh, I think I saw a green eye, but not much else.>
Titan: ...Hrm.
-There is the sound of something being scribbled onto a piece of paper before Titan speaks again.-
Titan: Regardless of your personal feelings on the matter, I would say that you deserve a commendation for your performance. You played our enemies off against each other and managed to secure an asset for Neo-Galactic at minimal risk to yourself. An admirable achievement indeed... for a Murkrow, of course.
-Lucius takes Sarah's hand and smiles.-
Lucius: Now you're just being silly. You deserve every single word and more.
