-Sarah winces-
Sarah: <Don't put it like that, I don't want to think about the fact that I could have just killed you...>
-For a moment, the ghost of a smirk forms on Lucius' face.-
Lucius: I can think of some other uses for costumes aside from superheroics.
-Said smirk is gone as quickly as it came.-
Lucius: As for what else to do... take it easy? I know this sounds hypocritical coming from me, considering how I only just complained to you about how about how I literally can't turn myself off, but there might still be a chance for you. Go get help. Talk to people. Violence isn't going to solve all your problems. It's like a drug - sure, it eases the pain at first, but soon you find yourself becoming dependant on it.
Lucius: Don't be silly. After everything I've lived through, I wouldn't let something as stupid as that finally do me in.
-He scratches his chin, looking thoughtful.-
Lucius: ...How did the story of the Frog Prince go again? The full story, not the pussified version they tell to kids.
Sarah: <I... don't know, actually. I don't really do that much research into fairy tales, as much as the universe seems to want me to be part of one.>
Lucius: Time to find out, then!
-He whips out his laptop and the clacking of keys quickly fills the room.-
Lucius: I am so glad I decided to get wi-fi set up in this place. Best decision I ever made. I don't even care about the risk of detection. So worth it.
Sarah: <...Huh. I'll keep that in mind for later when I come here. You know, when I have hands that can operate keyboards. If I ever do.>
Psyche sighs. ~Tell you what. If I go, will you go?~
Lucius: You will. Trust me. Just as soon as I...
-He trails off, blinking at his laptop monitor.-
Lucius: ...Throw you against a wall?
-Lucius raises another inquiring eyebrow at Psyche.-
Lucius: ...Go where?
Sarah: <...Wait, what?>
-Lucius picks up Sarah and plonks her in front of the laptop screen.-
Lucius: That's what it says. Right here. "With that she became bitterly angry and threw him against the wall with all her might... but when he fell down, he was not a frog, but a prince with beautiful friendly eyes." Y'know, I'm starting to think that maybe this whole Frog Prince reenactment thing isn't the best idea after all...
Sarah: <...Yikes. Why are all original fairy tales so morbid? That doesn't even teach a good lesson. "Be violent with someone you hate, because then you'll be able to love them.">
Lucius: Having had firsthand experience with people from six centuries ago, I can say with certainty that they were absolute jerks back then. Maybe that's got something to do with it.
-He frowns and leans back on the headboard.-
Lucius: ...Well, it's the wall, another kiss, or we consult an expert on lycanthropy. And I don't think those exist, though I wouldn't be surprised if they started popping up shortly.
~To get some therapy.~
Sarah: <The Obscura thing already said it wasn't lycanthropy... So... um, could we give the kiss another shot before I end up getting injured by walls? It might have needed something more than just a quick peck like you did...>
-Beat-
Sarah: <...I promise this isn't just an excuse to get another kiss from you.>
-Lucius' first reaction is an instinctive scowl.-
Lucius: Titan had me seeing shrinks for over a year and that never did me any-
-He stops himself, then sighs.-
Lucius: ...Sorry. I've had bad experiences in the past, but... if I'm recommending it to you, then I might as well give it a shot myself. Arceus knows I need it. I just hope it's not too late for me...
-Lucius' smile is all innocence.-
Lucius: I'm sure you'd rather wait until you're human again for that anyway.
-He closes his eyes and picks up Sarah to give her another kiss, this one a couple of seconds longer than the first. To his credit, he manages to avoid shuddering.-
-Maybe it works on a delay or something?-
Sarah: <...Nnnnnnnope. Not feeling any sort of tingly glowy transformationy feeling...>
Psyche nods. ~I'm going to say my apologies this week, before heading back to therapy. You should come with me. Nimbasa is great. Nice doctors, cute nurses, well, the food is hospital food. But you know. Aside from it being therapy, it's a pretty cush place.~
-Lucius looks rather reluctant, though his expression makes it obvious that he's struggling to come up with a counterargument.-
Lucius: ...I don't like to think about what Titan and his ilk could get up to whilst I'm away in Unova for weeks at a time.
Lucius: Arrrgh... something has to work!
-He throws his hands up in the air in frustration. Unfortunately, he neglects to consider the fact that he's still holding Sarah.-
-Kerthunk.-
Sarah: ...Ow...
-Oh, hey, tingly glowy transformationy feelings. Maybe that kiss did work on a timer.-
Sarah: "...With that he became bitterly angry and threw her against the wall with all his might... but when she fell down, she was not a frog, but a princess with beautiful friendly eyes..." If you don't mind, I'm gonna curl up here and be in pain for a while...
Psyche rolls her eyes. ~Dude, I don't fucking care about Titan. And you shouldn't either. The rest of the J-team is dealing with just as much as you. Oh mighty Superman, you will be fine taking a vacation.~
-Lucius folds his arms.-
Lucius: ...Fine. But I leave early. And by early, I mean this evening. I'll meet you in Nimbasa. I'm not wasting any more time than I have to.
-Lucius blinks at the now-human Sarah, then gives a wide grin that stretches from ear to ear.-
Lucius: ...It worked! Oh man, it actually worked! I didn't think it would work but it did and I didn't even mean to do it! Yes! Score one for team me! Ahahahahaha, for once I... erm...
-He realises himself and trails off, rubbing the back of his neck.-
Lucius: Oh, um, sorry about bodily throwing you into a wall and everything. Without warning, too. So, uh... yeah, sorry about that.
Psyche shrugs. ~Fine by me.~
-Sarah smiles slightly-
Sarah: I missed when you were able to laugh like that... Just hearing that makes up for the pain.
-A slight red tint seeps into her cheeks-
Sarah: That... sounded kinda sappy, didn't it?
Lucius: Alright. I guess I'll see you in the madhouse, then.
-He turns and starts to walk away.-
-Lucius himself starts to go faintly scarlet.-
Lucius: I've heard sappier. Said sappier, too. But this is the first time I've ever been complimented for slamming someone into a stone surface. It's one way to a girl's heart, I suppose... though perhaps a path less trodden.
-He chuckles slightly.-
-Sarah giggles, going redder-
Sarah: I guess it's only natural that it's my turn to be sappy now.
-She rolls over onto her back, wincing slightly-
Sarah: You really are something of a knight in shining armor, huh? Always there to save the girl trapped in her own personal fairy tale...
-Sakura may find herself receiving a text message through the magic of time shenanigans.-
To: Shingeko
Change of plans. I'm heading up to Unova on some personal business. You want more details, drop me a private line. Until I get back, I'm going to need you and Gekkobi to hold the fort for me in Gaia's absence. Obviously this means that we'll be delaying our push against Neo-Galactic for a while.
From: The Auric Avenger
-Lucius, now glowing crimson by this point, gives a rather melancholy smile.-
Lucius: Hardly. My armour's pretty grubby by this point, and last I checked, knights usually got a happy ending to their stories. Riding off into the sunset with the fair maiden in their arms and all that. Still, I do try.
