"You shouldn't have been capable of saving Duke from Cipher and you did it anyway, after all I remember how scared you were. That's no excuse, if you want to take a break, take it and leave the heroing behind, everything is possible if you put some effort in it."
-Lucius rests his head in his hands.-
Lucius: ...You really don't get it, do you? Do you think I haven't tried? Because I have, Sakura. And every single time, my mind starts going back to those times. The nightmares start returning. It's because of that experience that I can't ever truly relax. I need something to keep me distracted, something to convince me that I'm helping to prevent people from going through what I endured... something that makes me feel like I'm getting closer to hunting down the man responsible for making me into the broken boy you see before you.
Sakura expression becomes a very worried one "Lucius... You're a hero, you've probably helped a lot of people already and the kind of experience you went through isn't exactly something that happens every day. If you need something to keep you distracted, maybe you should find a new hobby..."
-Lucius gives a noise that could be mistaken for a chuckle were one not listening particularly closely.-
Lucius: Funny. Duke told me pretty much the same thing. If you've got any suggestions, then I'm all hears, but no matter what I try I haven't been able to invest myself in anything so far - with the exception of our little hero business, of course.
"Well, what sort of things do you have an interest in? Do you like playing games, camping, listening to music... Or simply hanging out with friends."
-Lucius shrugs.-
Lucius: I play video games every now and then, sure, but I wouldn't call it a hobby. It's just something I do when I've got time to kill. I used to draw a bit when I was a kid. Not anymore, though. I was never any good at it anyway. Being with friends is maybe the one thing I can really distract myself with, but things have been complicated recently, what with the relationship issues and all...
"That was what you were talking about with Crewe and Sarah back when you decided to leave me behind in the factory isn't it?" she said, looking annoyed for a brief moment.
-Lucius nods.-
Lucius: In my defence, we actually managed to get some stuff sorted out... Sarah and I agreed to just stay friends, and I got around to telling Crewe that I might like her back. We didn't really get any further than that, though, and now I'm kinda uneasy about talking to her again because we're going to have to address that fact at some point.
"Both of you are already dating aren't you? Both of you are aware of that. It's okay to have some affection towards another person other than your girl/boyfriend, but each of you should just say "I like you, but I'm still going to stay with Samantha/Straw", you wouldn't get upset at her for it, would you?"
-Lucius sighs.-
Lucius: See, that's the thing... I can't even remember the last time I saw Samantha. Bishop pointed out that we kind of rushed into our relationship in the first place. You're right, I can hardly blame her for sticking with Straw instead of somebody like me, but there's times when I think that I might be better off staying single... I can't make a relationship work right now, and I doubt I ever will.
"If you think things aren't going to work out, then you should break up with her. I did that and Sarah did as well, it makes you feel bad for a while, but in the end maybe Rawst will find out someone who's a better girlfriend for him. Maybe you and Samantha could find better people for youselves as well."
Lucius: Maybe... I'm kinda afraid that she'd come at me with an axe if I tried to pull something like that, though.
-He straightens himself up somewhat.-
Lucius: So, how did your date go? I don't think I ever got the chance to ask.
"Date?"
-Lucius raises an eyebrow.-
Lucius: You know? The one that you got asked on whilst we were talking in the factory? The one that made you mad at me because I decided I ought to avoid infringing on your romantic life and discreetly stepped out?
"Oh, that... It wasn't really a date, Blitz and I just talked a bit and then later we went Arcanine racing. It was pretty fun though."
-Lucius leans back in his chair.-
Lucius: Sounds like a date to me. That's what you usually do on dates, isn't it? Talk for a while and then go do something together, or vice versa?
Sakura blushes a bit "... I suppose... Truth is... Today Blitz found me singing to myself and he started to praise me so much that I actually was feeling so embarrassed I had to leave. I think I like him and I know he likes me... But I'm just afraid of going into another doomed relationship."
-Lucius scratches his hair, causing a twig to fall out.-
Lucius: Why worry about that? Seems like you're only considering the worst-case scenario. You like him, he likes you. It's a simple story that's fuelled the plot of many a chick flick. If it doesn't end up working out, then at least now you'll realise as much, and I'm sure you're both mature enough to stay friends. You've known Blitz for a while, right? I've only talked to him once or twice, and that was about his little "problem", but he seems decent enough.
"You know, if that's what you're telling me now, why can't you take your own advice?" she said, with a slight smirk.
-Lucius gives a thin smile.-
Lucius: Because giving advice is a lot easier than taking it.
"You're right though, I talked with Sarah before and she gave me a similar advice. Maybe I should go for it and ask him out. We do have a bit in common, I was surprised to learn he could sing too." she gives a somewhat melancholic smile.
-Lucius smirks slightly.-
Lucius: Not to mention that he's a were-Froakie. Maybe you should start off by offering to give him a spot on that Squad of yours. On a part-time basis, of course. If you ask me, he doesn't seem quite cut out for superheroics.
Sakura smirks "He's already a Greninja, he's part of the Squad and he's also my sidekick. Boom."
-Lucius looks rather surprised for a moment before giving a small smile.-
Lucius: ...That explains an awful lot about Gekkobi, actually. Which reminds me that I still haven't shown him around the cave. Not that there's much point right now, what with everything falling apart. Tell me, did he fall for the mask first, or the girl behind it?
"I don't think he swings that way. Still, I'm pretty sure he only started having feelings for me after finding out who was the hero, or maybe he already had some attraction towards me before I started the whole business. I don't know. It was interesting though, despite being a member of the Squad, despite knowing Teishi was the leader and that he was my Pokémon, he never considered the possibility of me being a hero." she smiles.
