Topic: Umbra's D&D campaign planning

What it says on the tin.

So, we have how to do dicerolls, sorta... How are we gonna handle all the other stuff? What rules do we use- 3.5? 4.0? Microlite? (no edition flamewars, plz.) Where do I put the loads and loads of fluff for my campaign setting? Where do we actually DO the roleplaying?

Any sort of advice is appreciated. Also, if anyone has any experience making/reskinning  monsters and races, I'd like some help with that.

Fluff/Roleplaying can be done here, perhaps? Or is this specifically a WAAPT forum?

Re: Umbra's D&D campaign planning

If we use M20, the downloads are here for rules and stuff. The core rules are only a couple pages, though there's the Gold edition that is a full-size rulebook.

^I think this is aimed as a general WAAPT Community, so it should be doable here. Whether or not it's allowed here is Silent's decision as forum admin.

I could use Google Docs for the fluff at first, but if that's inconvinient for something  or someone we can find an alternative.

For now, here's a basic summary of my idea for the setting:

One of Wikkii's Farmer wikis maybe?

anyways, Seth hasn't posted M20 Golden to the new forum setup, but I have it up on Dropbox here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/48364114/Microl … 0Gold.zip. It's got the Gold rulebook, a character sheet, a GM screen, and a collection of M20 derivatives. All PDFs

Re: Umbra's D&D campaign planning

The Fuseworld's idea looks quite good... And I can contribute in my own way. I have a 1st edition D&D rulebook... And it has quite a few suggestions on horrifying monsters to use. ...Or we could use the standard, that works.

I'm used to running 4e, but I think I understand the gist of 3.5e from the games built on it, so either or.

DL'd the setting document because I had too many tabs and GDocs was lagging badly. Reading it now.

Re: Umbra's D&D campaign planning

If anyone could throw me some good dungeon map generators, that would be great. For now, here's MOAR FLUFF. This time about dragons. :3

Note the two "gag" monsters in the "Dragon Relatives" section. Because you can't have D&D without really WTF monsters. o3o

I'll upload more as the days progress, but keep in mind anything after this is more WIP-ish. Not that the whole thing isn't.
