-Herbert's cheeks go bright red again as he returns Crewe's smile.-
Herbert: Thanks. Glad to see that I'm not the only one in this relationship capable of being cheesy at times.
-He scratches the back of his neck.-
Herbert: So, um... I'll admit that this hasn't been much of a first date so far. Should we go see the sights and just hope that we don't bump into any hecklers, or are you happy just sitting here and talking about stuff?
-Crewe laughs-
Of course. We can use our powers of cheesiness to make people leave us alone if we want!
-she gives him a crooked smile-
You're cute when you blush, fruitcake.
-she looks down at her lemonade and takes another sip-
I'm fine with whatever you want to do, Herbert.
-Being told that he's cute when he blushes obviously only makes Herbert blush even more deeply.-
Herbert: Erm, thanks. I mean, I'm fine with whatever you want to do as well, but if we let ourselves get stuck in that cycle we'll be here all day... then again, I can't really think of anything better to do. We already did Prism Tower - well, kinda - and the museum seems like one of the lamest possible dating spots known to man.
-Crewe makes a sound somewhere between a snicker and something dangerously close to a giggle, then looks thoughtful-
Hm.... We could try the Prism Tower again. That didn't exactly go fantabulously last time, after all.
-Herbert scratches his chin.-
Herbert: I suppose we could. I never did get a chance to try and push you off last time around.
-He smirks evilly, then drains the last of his lemonade and stands up.-
Herbert: Let's get going, then. Might as well make use of the daylight we have left. Even if the view probably would look prettier at night...
-Seemingly still mulling over the question in his head, he starts heading out of the cafe.-
-Crewe raises an eyebrow-
Push me off? I should think I could push you off before you got to me.
-she finishes her lemonade and follows after him-
I think you have it backwards. The tower itself may look prettier at night, but I think the view from the top of it would probably be better while there's sunlight to see it from. 'Course, if you want, we can just stay there till night time to compare the two.
-Herbert smiles and takes Crewe's hand in his.-
Herbert: How about we compromise and head up there at sunset? That way we can compare the two and enjoy a cheesy romantic moment into the bargain.
-Crewe smiles and squeezes his hand-
I like this plan. Maybe you aren't so stupid after all, fruitcake.
-Herbert simply goes red and smiles again as he pushes the door open to the cafe open and heads out into the city.-
-He arrives at the base of the tower just as the sun is starting to set, still holding Crewe's hand in his.-
Herbert: Looks like we made it just in time. Let's just hope we don't miss any of the good bits.
-He steps into the elevator and starts pressing buttons.-
-Crewe hurries into the elevator with him-
I'm just glad there's an elevator instead of stairs or something. Then we'd definitely miss it.
-Herbert puts a hand to his forehead.-
Herbert: Can you imagine how long that'd take? We'd probably collapse from exhaustion before we even reached the top. No, I think I speak for lazy people everywhere when I say that an elevator was definitely the better choice.
-There is a ping, and the elevator doors slide open at the top of the tower.-
Herbert: Ah, looks like we've reached our destination. Right in the nick of time, too!
-He runs over to the railing to watch the sunset.-
Agreed. I hate walking.
-she perks up at the sound of the elevator arriving and runs after Herbert, stopping beside him at the railing, eyes wide with wonder as she watches the sun set over the city. When she speaks, it's in a somewhat hushed tone-
This was a great idea.
-Herbert grins and wraps his arm around Crewe.-
Herbert: I know, right? I'm a genius.
-Crewe smiles and leans against him-
Now now, I wouldn't go quite that far. But yes, you are were a very smart boy to suggest coming here now.
-Herbert gives a small smirk and moves his hand down to Crewe's waist.-
Herbert: You're going to have to admit it one of these days, you know. But "very smart" will do just fine for the time being.
-He then turns his attention back to the sunset, his expression becoming more thoughtful.-
Herbert: ...D'you reckon we can make this last, Crewe?
-Crewe shifts a bit closer to him-
Admitting implies it's true, fruitcake. I should think I know better.
-she turns her head to look at him-
I think… if we want it to last, we can make it last. I'm certainly willing to try.
-she raises an eyebrow-
Don't tell me you've given up on me already. It's only been a few hours.
-Herbert turns to Crewe, looking somewhat taken aback.-
Herbert: Of course not! I'm going to do everything I can to try to make this work. I just... well, I...
-He stammers for a few moments, seemingly thinking about how to put what he's trying to say, before pulling Crewe into a tight hug.-
Herbert: ...I'm probably overthinking this. Let's just enjoy the time we have with each other, however long it lasts for.
-Crewe returns the hug, murmuring in his ear-
Don't worry, Herbert. We'll be just fine.
-she kisses his cheek-
-Herbert goes red again as Crewe kisses his cheek and pulls away, smiling.-
Herbert: I certainly hope so.
-He turns back to the railing and watches the sun disappear behind the Lumiose skyline.-
Herbert: So... should we head back to the hotel now, or would you rather stay and enjoy the view for a little while longer?
-Crewe shivers slightly-
As much as I'd like to see the city at night… it's getting cold up here.
-she huddles up against him-
Maybe just a few more minutes, than we can go back.
-Herbert pulls Crewe closer to him.-
Herbert: We can stay here for as long as you want.
-Crewe smiles and leans against him, looking out over the city quietly until the cold gets too much for her and she nudges him-
Ready to go inside where it's warm?
-Herbert gives a small nod.-
Herbert: Sure thing. Lemme just let Maul out of his ball and I'll-
-He feels a fork gently poking him in the ribs.-
Herbert: ...How long have you been watching us f- never mind, I don't want to know. Could you just take us back to our hotel room, please?
-Maul nods, and blips Herbert and Crewe back to the Hotel Richissime.-
Maul: ~You two enjoy your date?~
Herbert: Indeed we did, not that it's any of your business.
-He sits himself down on the bed.-
-Crewe sits down beside him, tossing Maul a berry-
Thank you, Maul. And it was very nice.
-to Herbert-
I need to get better at teleporting, 'cause it is remarkably convenient.
-Maul telekinetically catches the Berry as Herbert gives a small smile.-
Herbert: Indeed it is. Now that I think about it, we could've just teleported up to the top of Prism Tower rather than taking the elevator, but that'd take the fun out of everything.
-He recalls Maul and lies down on the bed, resting his head against the covers.-
