Topic: Route 34, Johto: Out-Of-Canon One-shot

-Crewe walks down the wide road, humming along to the Imperial March on her iPod. Biton strolls along by her side, looking around at their surroundings with one ear pricked to catch the sounds of prey Pokemon scurrying around--old habits are hard to break, after all. Henry is scurrying along as quickly as he can but nevertheless trailing behind, in part due to the way he keeps stopping to poke his head in a bush to find out what's behind it. Margaret follows along, stopping to pull the Eevee out by his tail and scold him, trying to make sure they keep up-

Biton: We were here, once.

Crewe: ... What, in Johto? I refuse to believe that. How did you get here?

Biton: It involves Morana, some heartbroken people, and a looong ride in a very cold room. Are you sure you want to know?

Crewe: No. I absolutely do not want to know more about you three breaking the law. ... Is there a law against that?

Biton: How should I know? But you don't have to worry about that; I'm here to keep you out of trouble, not the other way around.

Crewe: -rolls her eyes and turns up the volume- Suuure.

Henry: -scampers up and paws at Biton's leg- Biton! Biton! I want to hear about your adventure! Did you fight monsters? Did you die?

Margaret: Henry, don't bother him! He's being a big brother right now.

Henry: -pouts- He's always being a big brother. But he has the best stories! About Absol, and Abomamamasnows, and Pillows, and--

Margaret: I'm sorry, did you just say Abomamamasnows? And Pillows?

Biton: Calm down, Mags, it's fine. I'll tell you some stories later Henry, okay?

Henry: Okay! And then we can watch a movie! I want to watch a movie with explosions!

Margaret: Hey, that sounds fun...

Crewe: I have plenty of movies with explosives. Just wait until we stop, 'kay?

Henry: Okey dokes! -he scampers off to explore a rustling sound in a nearby bush-

Margaret: Henry! Would you stop doing that?!

-she hurries over and grabs his tail in her mouth to drag him out-

Biton: So you can hear me.

Crewe: -ignores-


(( Okay, so... anyone who feels like it can join. They're all pretty much just walking down Route 34 for whatever reason. ))

Basket: It's been a while.

Conn: (Exeggutor, totally part of Tangent's team in this scenario) Hello, kiddies!

-Crewe spots Tangent and waves, clicking her tongue to get Henry's attention-

Crewe: Hey, Henry. See the tropius? She's super nice. Go say hi.

Henry: Okay! Is she a hero?

Crewe: Why don't you ask her?

Henry: ... That's a great idea!

-he sprints over towards them, tripping over his own feet a few times. Margaret hurries after him and dives into the water when she gets close. Crewe and Biton follow a little more slowly-

Crewe: Hey, Tangent, Basket, Conn. This is my brother, Biton.

Biton: I'm a Sneasel.

Crewe: -shoves him with a knee, which he shoves back- Yes, yes you are.

Henry: -scurries over to Basket and looks up at her with wide eyes- Hi! I'm Henry! Who are you? Are you a good guy? Are you a superhero?

Margaret: -sighs and bobs to the surface near Conn- Hi. I'm Margaret. I'm the sane one.

Basket: -to Henry- <Oh, hello little Eevee! Superhero? I'm not sure if I can say that... but I've taken down some baddies before...>

Conn: The sane one? Oh, dear, how boring... Don't worry, I can fix that! -grins cheerfully, yet evilly-

Biton: Same to you. You look fairly non-evil.

Crewe: -smiles- Yeah. It took a few months as a Sneasel, but I think I know where I'm supposed to be. Or at least, where I want to be.

Biton: -grumbles-

Crewe: Oh, shut up. I never asked you to follow me.

Biton: As if I was about to let my baby sister wander off on her own.

Crewe: I told you-- -she cuts herself off- I'm not having this conversation right now.

Biton: Fine.

Crewe: Fine. ... So, how have things been with you, Tangent?

Henry: Oooooh. That's awesome! What kinds of baddies? We're they evil? Did they have superpowers? Were there explosions?

Margaret: -backpaddles rapidly, looking horrified- Not you too! Don't tell me there are more crazy Pokemon out there! ... Also, your leaves are messed up. Fix them.

Tangent: Ah, gotta love family, still.

-realizes something- OH! So you did find your family!

Basket: <If they weren't evil, I wouldn't call them baddies now would I? :P>

<The people were pretty normal, but there was this evil computer... that I kinda blew up with Frenzy Plant. It actually was pretty awesome.>

Conn: <Oh, I suppose they are... thanks for pointing it out.>

-Conn then emerges from the bush next to Conn(?!) and adjusts her leaves. Substitute is always a great prank to break the ice with!-

Crewe: -chuckles- Yeah. Biton here's my oldest brother. I have another brother, Martin, an a sister named Morana.

Biton: Morana's pretty famous in the small towns around where we live. They call her "The Shadow", 'cause she's not quite as good at stealing as she likes to think, and sometimes the people notice.

Crewe: That one lady was so mad, I thought for sure Morana was gonna lose her feather.

Biton: She doesn't like to talk about it much.

Henry: -making a :O face- That's the coolest thing EVER! My team isn't nearly that cool! We just walk around a lot. I hatched way too late to do anything cool.

Margaret: I--but--THAT'S SO MEAN!

-angry, she launches a Dragon Pulse at the decoy, the Egg Move--not yet even close to mastered--propelling her into a backflip in the water and firing off erratically-

-shrugs- Well, a Sneasel's gotta eat, can't really begrudge that.

Basket: <Oh, don't worry. You'll get your chance at adventure eventually. Hopefully not fighting baddies, but it doesn't look like the world will be seeing peace anytime soon.>

Conn: <Whoa!> -teeters a bit, even if not directly hit-

<Somebody's jumpy...> -she Harvests a Sitrus Berry to regain the Substitute HP-

Henry: I'm gonna evolve first. But before I do that, I have to decide what I can evolve ino that's the awesomest!

Tangent: Mostly taking some time out, for now. I've managed to get the PEFE workload reduced finally, so I'm enjoying the scenery of my home region.

...maybe I'll try to do the gym challenge, I dunno. I think I might be able to win some badges after all this time.

Basket: <Eevee certainly do have an interesting life choice to face... most Pokémon only have one evolution option, and it's just a question of whether they feel ready for it yet or not.>

<...I wouldn't know personally, though... I don't evolve.>

Conn: -the Exeggutor sighs-

<Fine... I was just having some fun, you know? A sense of humor wouldn't hurt you any.>

-Conn openly spawns another Substitute beside her, and starts to referee a volleyball match between them-

Henry: I'm gonna be the most heroic and awesome not-Eevee ever!

-he nuzzles Basket-

Henry: Do you want to evolve? I bet, if we tracked down Arceus, and asked super super nice, he'd let you!

Margaret: -sniffs and swims over towards Crewe, Biton, and Tangent- That Exeggutor was mean!

Crewe: -rubs her head- Don't worry about it, Mags.

Basket: <Well, Silent's old Nidorina(?) did a pretty good job against Lance, so I'm not counting myself out just yet!> ;)

Tangent: Conn can be a bit... offsetting before you get to know her. You're OK...

Crewe: Don't be silly Mags, you're fine.

-she turns to Tangent-

Crewe: This kid Hunter gave their eggs to me. He didn't want to deal with young Pokemon, and I was a bit lacking in the team department.

Crewe: We're just kind of wandering Johto. I figured we'd head for Goldenrod and make it home base, then range around, training and exploring and whatever. I'm thinking of getting one of my uncle's annotated maps of the area and checking out those areas... He lives up in Ecruteak, so it's not far out of the way.

Biton: I know some cool places around here where Martin, Morana and I stayed for a while.

Henry: Eep! I mean, grrr!

-he rolls on his back and swipes playfully at Basket's muzzle-

Crewe: Nothing off-route. It's on my to-do list.

Biton: We've been just about everywhere. Except Hoenn, we kept getting caught when we stowed away on ships headed there.

Crewe: Wait, Hoenn's the only place you've never been? You went to the Orange Islands? And Unova?

Biton: You don't wanna know about the Orange Islands. What's a Unova? Is it a little nobody town? 'Cause we've been to a lot of those.

Henry: -yips and spins around, tripping over his paws and falling-
