Human!Ammy: -grabs Nazz and Skipper and jumps down, landing safely thanks to the tractor beam and portal-

Styx and Gravemind: -follow-

My girlfriend is a Volcarona, your argument is invalid.

Lake: <Oh! Er...>

Stratus: <EEP! How does she do that with her voice? It sounds all red!>

Lake shrugs.

Lake: <Dragon magic?>

Stratus: <Ooh, that's probably it...>

Stratus shirks back from the Flygon a bit as he gives Spectrum an apologetic look.

Lake: <Sorry, I guess I could've explained what I was about to do before I did it. I didn't want to worry you.>

-We follow Ammy, Nazz, and their companions into the tractor beam-

<"Oh wait... I know what this is! This is one of those blasted beams that sucked us into this place to begin with the last time we were here!">

<Teala: "... I thought that you said it was orange though.">

Re: PEFE-B: The Part Where He Kills Us

Now that everymon was on the other side, Lake turns his attention to the door on the far wall, across the seemingly bottomless pit. At the moment, there didn't seem to be any obvious way across.

Lake: <Now how do we get over there?>

Stratus, meanwhile turns his attention to a nearby button...on the ceiling.

Stratus: <Perhaps that has something to do with it? But how are we suppsed to keep it pressed if it's on the ceiling? And what do we weigh it down with?>

Lake: <Hmm...>

Noticing a smaller button on the platform they were occupying, the Feraligatr goes over and pressed it, causing a dispenser on the other side of the chamber to drop a Frankencube...right into the bottomless pit.

<...Well, that didn't help...>

<Pepper: "Hmm... Maybe there's some way to bring it over with those beams? It got us here, didn't it?">

Re: PEFE-B: The Part Where He Kills Us

Test Chamber

Spectrum: <Simple, we just catch a cube-thing in one of these beam things, and then use a portal to carry the cube-thing onto the switch!>

[Spectrum was here!]

309

Re: PEFE-B: The Part Where He Kills Us

Lake: <Hmm. Don't see why it wouldn't work for the cube. Let me try something...>

Lake shoots a portal under the dispenser, the tractor beam once again extending under it, then presses the button, another Frankencube falling out, but this time landing safely in the tractor beam.

Stratus: <Ooh, looks you two are onto something here!>

Lake: <Alright, I've got this covered...>

Waiting until it was over the platform, Lake fires another portal to re-direct the beam, sending the Frankencube up towards the button, depressing it and extending a bridge over to the chamber door.

<Phew! That wasn't so hard. Thanks, you guys.>

Cornn: "WELL DONE. YOU ALL ARE GOING TO LOVE THIS BIG SURPRISE IN A FEW CHAMBERS. IN FACT, YOU MIGHT SAY THAT YOU ALL ARE GOING TO LOVE IT TO DEATH. LOVE IT... UNTIL IT KILLS YOU. UNTIL YOU'RE DEAD. HEH HEH HEH. ALRIGHT? I DON'T KNOW WHETHER YOU'RE PICKING UP ON WHAT I'M SAYING HERE, BUT..."

PEFeDOS: "YES, THANKS. THEY GET IT. IT'S AS OBVIOUS AS THIS TEST. ALL THEY HAD TO DO WAS PULL THAT LEVER."

Cornn: "WHAT? NO, THEY PRESSED THAT B-AGGGHHHHHH!"

PEFeDOS: "HEH HEH HEH HEH HEH..."

<Riana: "... Toothless? What's this surprise?">

-Looking rather pale-

<Toothless: "(Oh Arceus... Sonny's going to peck my eyes out if I survive this...)">

-And we press on to an elevator-

313

Re: PEFE-B: The Part Where He Kills Us

Lake: <He'll be crossed with me, too. I'm technically Riana' uncle, you know. Since I'm the responsible one, I'll be the one he goes for first. Not that I'd go down without a fight...>

Stratus, meanwhile, gulps in fear.

Stratus: <I don't know about you guys, but I've got the sneaking suspicion that Cornn's trying to kill us...>

Lake: <Really? What gave it away?>

Stratus: <I dunno, just a hunch. A worrying one...>

Re: PEFE-B: The Part Where He Kills Us

PEFE Bowels

Once we managed to get inside that bunker (They had some serious defenses inside that thing, but a hacking tool and a Metagross easily solves the problem of killer robots.), we stumbled across quite an amazing find. Some sort of powered armor, but made for Pokemon. Obviously, we decided it was within our best interests to take this stuff for ourselves.

It was pretty easy for me to properly use my armor, since my other self's memories of the Halloween Party assisted me in that regard. The others, however...it took them a couple days to finally get used to the things. Once we managed to get at least a basic handling of the armor, I led us on a new mission...to take that base.

-Another short and cramped elevator ride later-

Cornn: "I'LL BET YOU'RE ALL DYING TO KNOW WHAT YOUR BIG SURPRISE IS. ONLY THREE MORE CHAMBERS!"

PEFeDOS: "ARGH. I'M RUNNING OUT OF TIME! AND THAT'S WITH ACCESS TO THE NETWORK. IF YOU'RE WILLING TO DO ME A FAVOR AND GET THIS LITTLE IDIOT OUT OF MY WAY, I THINK THAT I CAN GET YOU ALL OUT OF THERE IN THIS NEXT CHAMBER."

-And we pass through a door to a room with a faith plate... And a cube being bounced up in the air periodically-

<Lardna: "... (I don't know, Tracer... I don't really trust her...)">

<"(We're running out of options! If Cornn is still around for much longer, we might not be!)">

Re: PEFE-B: The Part Where He Kills Us

PEFE Bowels

The actual battle was frankly, a curb stomp in our favor. The increased strength and durability granted by our power armor proved too much for the lizards, and they were routed. Once we were done sending the dragons packing...we started looking for where those three were buried.

According to one of the dragons we captured, they offered the Salamence a pardon due to his species, but he refused to betray his comrades and died like the others. Apparently their commander (Whose fang I took for myself off his cooling corpse.) was incredulous that he'd be willing to die for "inferior non-dovah". We found where they buried them a little later, fairly close to one another in unmarked graves. A bunch of us made a little memorial at their gravesite, with a minor etipath etched on it. I should probably check on Chilliwack, he could catch a cold sitting out there in the desert night.

-With something resembling happiness-

Though we've lost quite a bit, thanks to this armor we've finally got a leg up on the dragons. As those Goldenrod Nidos would say, "The liberation has begun."

Tangent: That's... :(

You did not come off well in that universe, Tagg...

Cephas: Guys, where are the others?

Tangent: We got separated, why?

Lua: Tracer.y = Us.y - 20?

Tangent: Hey, it's them!

And we drop down

-Which causes it, and 17 other faith plates disguised as floor panels to trigger and launch everyone present off to the right-

<All: "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!">

Cornn: "SURPRISE! WE'RE DOING IT NOW!"

-Into another patch of faith plates beyond the wall... And into vacant space, where we are all caught by a tractor beam-

PEFeDOS: "OKAY, CREDIT WHERE IT'S DUE: FOR A LITTLE IDIOT SPECIFICALLY BUILT TO COME UP WITH STUPID, UNWORKABLE PLANS, THAT WAS A PRETTY WELL-LAID TRAP."

Spectrum vibrates her wings just enough to stop right before the beam

Spectrum: <Hold on, I'll get you all out of there...>

Spectrum: <Ow! What was that for!?>

Igneous: <I can handle this myself, thank you very much!>
