Topic: What-If: Waiting For Games

Jubilife City, Sinnoh, four years ago

-We are currently waiting in line for the Pokeverse's analogue for, well, Pokemon-

Man, it's so cold up here. How do the Sinn even handle it?

Gible: -Is using my head for a chew toy- <Om nom nom.>

Gaia: -Looks a bit concerned- <Perhaps we should get the little dear off Tagg.>

Roc: -Sitting on Gaia's tree- <I can see...no distress coming off our trainer.>

Jubilife City - Sinnoh - Four Years Ago

"I have no idea, Dr. Tagg... And I think that some of my mons would concur with you... (Also, are you sure you should be allowing your Gible to do that?)"

-Hiding in my bag for warmth, pedipalps protruding-

-Muffled-

<Vlad (Gligar): "Are we inside yet?">

-Glowering, tied to a certain Ampharos via a small-ish metal chain

<Sonny: "This is just insulting...">

<Shaun: "Perhaps you should learn to behave yourself, then...">

<Sonny: "I do behave myself, ovets!">

<Milo (Buizel): "(Uh huh... Right...) Uh... So what's this whole 'standing in line and freezing our tails off' thing about again?">

-Shivering from the weather-

<Nadia (Shelgon): "Ask Audrey... (Eurgh... Salamence live in this horrid region?)">

<Audrey: "It's a human tradition! If you have a game that you like enough. You try and wait until the exact moment you can first get it.">

<Milo (Buizel): "We're in a line that's like... I don't even know how many paces that is long!">

<Audrey: "It's the trying part that counts.">

Re: What-If: Waiting For Games

Eh, it's not any worse than when Gaia used to bite my head.

Gaia: <I didn't know any better...>_> >

Kricketune: -Blades brandished- <Will there be fighting? By the Muse I hope there's fighting. >

Luxray: -To Kricketune- <Is all that you can think of fighting, bug? Well, that and music.>

Kricketune: <Hey! My ballads assured us victory against the freaks with blue hair!>

Gaia: -Sternly- <Quit fighting you two, you're giving a bad example to our newest teammate.>

Nudi: -Is keeping as far away from Sonny as possible-

These past few months sure have been crazy.

Jubilife - 4 Years Ago

<Milo (Buizel): "So wait... Do some of you play games too? What kinds do you like?">

<Audrey: "What can I say? The kid may be lippy, but he's got good taste in hobbies!" ^_^>

5

Re: What-If: Waiting For Games

Gaia: -To Milo- <I can't play, not with these feet.>

Kricketune: <Yeah, but I have to wear these special caps, and the DS has to be flat on the ground. Can't play much more than touchgames though...>

Waiting In Line for In-Universe Pokegames - Jubilife - Four Years Ago

-To Tagg's Cricketune-

<Milo (Buizel): "Well hey, at least we can play this game together!">

-To Tagg-

"You can say that again. Fighting an evil Mega Corp, starting up an entire international incident over the fallout..."

-Muffled-

<Vlad (Gligar): "I had fun with Dintel during it! We got to chew wires!">

"Heck, getting jumped by weirdos in bowl cuts and spacesuits is normal compared to that!"

<Nadia (Shelgon): "Well... At least we're probably not going to get into anything that insane here.">

<Sonny: "... You've never heard of jinxing, have you, glupyi blok?">

<Milo (Buizel): "(Oh great, so now something like that is gonna happen to me...)">

Re: What-If: Waiting For Games

-To Tracer-

Well, when we were up on Mt. Coronet on the other hand...that was insane.

Luxray: <"Hold the line", he said. Taking on all those Grunts was ridiculous, I still wonder how we pulled it off.>

Kricketune: -To Milo- <Good point.>

Gible: -Has gotten her mouth on Nadia's shell- <Do you like collecting shiny things too?>

Re: What-If: Waiting For Games

Jubilife - 4 Years Ago

"... Fair point. What do you suppose happened to that girl anyways?"

-To Luxray-

<Shaun: "... I don't know how that happened either...">

<Sonny: "Simple. They were a bunch of slabaki whose only advantage was numbers! Of course we were going to be able to hold them off!">

-To Gible, not really feeling the effects of the bites thanks to thick carapace-

<Nadia (Shelgon): "I mean, they're nice... I guess... I don't really collect them though...">

-Muffled-

<Vlad (Gligar): "She prefers light anyways!">

<Nadia (Shelgon): "Vlad! Don't tell her that!">

-Muffled-

<Vlad (Gligar): "But it's cute, Nadia!">

Re: What-If: Waiting For Games

Not entirely sure, hope she's doing alright though.

Luxray: -To Shaun- <How we managed to be in the same general area so often boggles the mind.>

Gible: -To Nadia- <So then what do Shelgon like to do?>

Re: What-If: Waiting For Games

Jubilife - Four Years Ago

-Muffled-

<Vlad (Gligar): "They chase after light spots! Except they're slower because they're-">

<Nadia (Shelgon): "Vlad!">

<Milo (Buizel): "Wait a minute... Chasing light spots? You mean like Glameow?

...

Pfft! Ha ha! Oh wo-OW!">

-Is dope slapped by a certain Lucario, albeit not as forcefully as we typically see-

<Audrey: "Don't be rude!">

11

Re: What-If: Waiting For Games

Gible: -To Nadia- <So you do like shiny things then.>

Luxray: -To Milo- <There's nothing wrong with chasing lights, sea-weasel. Kids these days.>

12

Re: What-If: Waiting For Games

Jubilife - Four Years Ago

<Nadia (Shelgon): "... There's not? I mean, of course there's not! It's fun! (And mesmerizing...)">

<Sonny: "(And idiotic... Shiny things are meant to be hoarded, not chased!)">

13

Re: What-If: Waiting For Games

Gible: -To Sonny- <You can't have anything from my pile!>

Gaia: <Technically, it's Tagg's.>

Luxray: -To Nadia- <Yeah, it is.>

Tracer, it's like this line is never going to end.

14

Re: What-If: Waiting For Games

Jubilife - Four Years Ago

"Yeah... (And I thought the line for Dragonite Quest 8 was insane...)"

<Audrey: "But it's the long lines that are the most fun!">

<Milo (Buizel): "(This is fun? I dunno, I'd rather be warm right now!)" >_> >

<Shaun: "How much closer is the store to opening?">

<Audrey: "It's only been a couple of minutes...">

Re: What-If: Waiting For Games

Jubilife - Four Years Ago

An Absol leaps from a nearby building and joins the line, that for plot convenience happened to end with Tagg's and Tracer's mons.

????!Absol: <Oh, this is going to be great!> -- sits by Schröedinger's Mon -- <Excuse me, good gentlemon, am I still in time for Ruby and Sapphire?>

Thou hast forgotten the face of thy Lord. Remember, mortal, and fear pet me.

16

Re: What-If: Waiting For Games

Cobalt: <Ruby and Sapphire? From what my partners tell me that was years ago.>

17

Re: What-If: Waiting For Games

Jubilife City - 4 Years Ago

<Milo (Buizel): "... What's 'Ruby and Sapphire'?">

<Sonny: "Seriously?">

<Audrey: "... You're more than a little late...">

"Wait a minute, where did that Absol come from?"

18

Re: What-If: Waiting For Games

I have no idea Tracer. Does he want food, or is he waiting for the game like us?

-Looks ahead-

I think we're almost there.

Luxray: <I hope so, this is getting boring.>

Re: What-If: Waiting For Games

Jubilife City - Four Years Ago

"... I'm not sure why this Absol is here, Dr. Tagg..."

-And fetches some food from my bag for it-

-From my bag-

-Muffled-

<Vlad (Gligar): "Oh! We're almost in?">

-Still shivering a bit-

<Nadia (Shelgon): "Yes, we are... (Thank Ho-Oh...)">

-Facetiously, to the Absol-

"So what insanity have you come to warn us about this time?"

<Sonny: "(Tracer, you moron!)">

<Milo (Buizel): "(... Oh great, now something is going to happen to us...)">

20

Re: What-If: Waiting For Games

-At this point we're almost inside the building-

Hopefully not as a harbinger of impending disaster.

Luxray: <You guys are being irrational, if something's going to happen it'll happen whether or not this Absol shows up.>

Gible: <I hope the cover of the new game will be shiny.>

21

Re: What-If: Waiting For Games

Jubilife -4 y

Constantly Late Absol: <Awww… I'm late?>

The Pokémon shies away as he is noticed by the humans in the group and turns to Audrey.

<It's not fair, I travelled from the other side of Sinnoh for this.>

The Absol lowers his head at Tracer suggesting that he is here to warn about impending disaster. He gives a half-hearted smile to Luxray and then walks to a nearby wall to sulk.

Thou hast forgotten the face of thy Lord. Remember, mortal, and fear pet me.

Re: What-If: Waiting For Games

Jubilife - Four Years Ago

-To the Absol-

<Audrey: "Well... You're not totally late... I mean, there is a new Pokemon game here... And if you really want Ruby or Sapphire, I'm sure this place would have it...">

-To Tagg-

"I think I can see the inside now..."

<Nadia (Shelgon): "And it feels so much better...">

23

Re: What-If: Waiting For Games

Gaia: -To Shelgon!Nadia- <Tell me about it. Normally I'd be hibernating at this time of the year.>

Gible: -On Gaia's back- <More games means more shiny things!>

-To Tracer-

Finally, I was getting tired of this cold.

24

Re: What-If: Waiting For Games

-To Audrey-

Constantly Late Absol: <Oh, there are new games coming?> -- looks excited -- <Yay, I wonder what are they going to be named like... I say like gems or jewels, you know, things like diamonds and pearls. What do you think? And the covers should be shiny like the Gible says.>

The Absol, now in a somewhat lighter mood, follows the others closer to the building.
