Pueltown Hotel - 8/9/14

Blitz:  Well...  I forgive you then, at least for my part.  I'll let them know next time I see them, whenever that is.

-He follows Lucius out the door, because there isn't much reason for him to stay in that room-

Blitz:  Hey, before you get too far.  I know I don't have much to do with most of this, but if you feel like talking sometime let me know.  Good luck!

-He waves, perhaps a little more cheerfully than necessary, before turning to pursue his own activities for the the day-

Pueltown Hotel - 8/9/14, earlier

Lucius: ...Yeah. Will do.

-He waves goodbye to Blitz before steeling himself and exiting the hotel.-

Cocona Hotel - 8/9/14

-A surge of conflicting emotions runs through Lucius as he sees the conditions in Sarah's room, though the most prevalent is a faint sense of nausea.-

Lucius: ...I'm not the one you ought to be worrying about. I've had people looking out for me, looking after me. I'm about as well as it's possible to be, under the circumstances. You should be thinking about yourself... how long have you been like this?

Cocona Hotel - 8/9/14

Lucius: So that would've been when she... right.

-He sighs deeply, then takes a seat next to Holly, his expression remaining calm if somewhat pained due to empathic feedback.-

Lucius: ...I don't hate you for what you did, Sarah. I understand why you felt like you had to go that far. What I don't understand is why you didn't even try to talk to me beforehand... I can't promise that I would've listened, but I thought our relationship was strong enough to allow us to be honest with each other.

Cocona Hotel - 8/9/14

-Lucius bows his head, closing his eyes.-

Lucius: ...And I was.

-There are a couple of moments of silence before he speaks again, his voice firm but wavering.-

Lucius: I... I never realised, Sarah. I needed that whisper in my ear, that voice telling me that I'd gone too far. Not once did it ever occur to me that you might be too scared to speak up... none of this would have happened in the first place if I'd only had the sense to stop and think for just a moment. If I had, maybe I wouldn't have given into revenge and become a monster just as savage and inhuman as Tagg... but there's no point in wasting time thinking about what might've happened in the past. We should be looking towards the future. And I don't want you to live the rest of your life in fear, terrified that one day I'll cross the line again and you'll have to be the one to stop me...

-He pauses, then forces himself to look up at Sarah with watery eyes.-

Lucius: ...That's not the kind of future I want for my friends. Thinking about you having to bear that burden, following me out of fear rather than loyalty... I'll do whatever it takes to prevent that from happening. Which... which is why I'm starting to think that it might be best if this is the last time we ever see each other.

Cocona Hotel - 8/9/14

-Lucius sighs again, looking away.-

Lucius: ...I thought I'd lost you. After what you did, I assumed that you never wanted to see me again... that my own short-sightedness had driven away the one person I could still trust. Even if we do try to make our friendship work again, without hurting each other this time around... I don't know if we'll be able to go back to what we had before. Not immediately, anyway. Maybe not ever. I'm willing to try, but...

-He trails off, looking uncertain.-

Cocona Hotel - 8/9/14

-After a moment or so, Lucius nods hesitantly.-

Lucius: ...Okay. I think I can do that. For... for old times' sake.

-He still doesn't look entirely at ease, but tries to distract from this by gesturing towards the door with his head.-

Lucius: Do you... want to go and get some fresh air? Staying cooped up in here probably isn't healthy. Pretty hypocritical coming from someone who just spent a week doing the exact same thing, but still... I think I've had enough of hotel rooms for a while.

Cocona Hotel - 8/9/14

-Lucius seems to hesitate for a moment before moving to support Sarah.-

Lucius: Careful... wouldn't want you to trip up and find yourself bedridden before we've even left your room.

-He gives a nervous little chuckle, then starts to make his way out of the hotel.-

Cocona Village - 8/9/14

-Upon stepping outside, Lucius looks around, taking in his surroundings.-

Lucius: Doesn't look like there's a lot to do around here... there's a beach, though. Want to go there and... I dunno, relax? It'll be just like what we've been doing for the last week or so, only outside.

Cocona Village - 8/9/14

Lucius: Oh, uh... sure. Though I don't actually own any clothes that could really be considered "more beach-friendly", so it might be kind of pointless. Unless you'd rather I replace this sweater with one that's a slightly lighter shade of grey.

Cocona Hotel - 8/9/14

-Lucius raises an eyebrow as he follows Sarah into the hotel.-

Lucius: ...Is there something wrong with the sweater? I like the sweater. The sweater's comfy. I've always stood by the sweater, and the sweater's always stood by me.

Cocona Hotel - 8/9/14

-Lucius frowns and folds his arms.-

Lucius: Hmph. Just this once. I still don't see how exposing more than ten per cent of your skin to sunlight can possibly be healthy.

-He waits dutifully outside Sarah's room.-
