Topic: Morpheus's Testing Ground (Nukes optional)

A Park, Unova

Today on this rather fine and unimportant day, there is a girl sitting on a bench. To the regular passerbyer, on may question the significance of this girl. To be honest with you, she is nothing worthy of note, yet we will be focusing on this particular girl (or rather her Pokemon) for the duration of this post. So this girl, named Athena, is sitting on a park bench staring up at the sky, cloud gazing. Not far away, two of her Pokemon are wrestling each-other.

Joe the Bisharp (M): -Wrestling with a Lucario- <C'mon Gainus! Put some some back into to it, are you loosing your edge or what?>

Gainas the Lucario (F): -Chuckling- <Listen to that swagger! You've toughened up nicely Joe~ But still...> - Shifts her weight, causing Joe to loose his edge- <You still can't beat me in a wrestling match!>

Gainas and Joe have had a friendly rivalry with each-other for as long as they can remember. This most likely stems from the fact that both are, in some ways, Athena's first and second Pokemon. While Athena first received Gainas as an Egg from her brother, she hatched a few months after Athena had already acquired Joe. While Joe is Athena's favourite, Gainas was the strongest mon on her team.

Joe: <Okay, okay, you win again Gai...>-Is helped off the ground by Gainas- <But you wont keep winning forever!>

Gainas: -Playful tone- <What bluster~! What bravado~! You couldn't possibly get any more adorable~>

Before Joe could react, a Skarmory decides to chip into the conversation.

Falchion the Skarmory (M): SKREEEE!

Now Falchion was Athena's 4th Pokemon. He is not a mon of many words, despite the fact he likes to talk. This may be because the only word he knows is "SKREE!" but all of this is unimportant right now. Back to where we were...

Joe: <Oh, Hi Falchion!>

Gainas: <You're saying that the others want to talk with us?>

Falchion: SKREEEE!

Both: <Okay then>

Joe and Gainas follow the Skarmory to the top of a hill. Where a Bastidon, Aggron and Scizor are resting at the top of the hill. When the Aggron hears the call of the bird, he turns around and faces his comrades.

Arlon the Aggron (M): <Ah! Young Master Joe and Mistress Gainas. How topping it is for you to join us on this fine day, would you like some refreshments?>

The Aggron offers some light snacks and a hot beverage of their choice to the duo. The Scizor is currently petting and comforting the Bastidon.

Sylvia the Scizor (F): <It's a lucky thing we have a mon as nice and as loyal as Arlon as a member of our team. Don't you think so Cragalanche?>

Cragalanche the Bastidon (M): <...>

Now Sylvia was caught just before Athena acquired Falchion. She isn't a mon of many words, preferring to stay on the sidelines and watch the others, commenting on this or that when the moment arises. Arlon was, like Joe, a present from Athena's parents. But unlike Joe, he seems to retain the elegance and etiquette that comes from being a member of the bourgeoisie. Cragalanche is the "newest" member of Athena's team, though he has been around for a while. Cragalanche was adopted by Athena when his original owner neither wanted him or cared for him, after being nursed back to health by Athena and Sylvia, he became a member of the group. The strong and silent type, he is fiercely loyal to Athena and Sylvia and would do anything to protect them.

The silence of the hill is broken when Joe decides to speak (He doesn't like being quiet for long)

Joe: <So, what are we doing?>

Arlon <Enjoying the peace my friend>

"Oh Bassy, I do love red the most. Hair, clothes, lipstick, I love them to be red. The more flamboyant a woman is, the more she's as beautiful as a poisonous flower, right?"

Outside the Sprout Tower

T'was a cloudy day today. Not rainy, just cloudy. Enough to make anyone today feel a tad bit off, and the young, purple-haired boy fishing by the pond was slight more than a tad bit off. He was downright miserable.

The child glances around the pond. There is not a soul in sight as nobody is stirring in Violet City today, the only living companion around is the shiny yet blind Slowking sitting next to him. He sighs, and dips his feet in the tepid water and continues to fish.

Acheron: What a miserable day to spend my birthday, oh well... I guess it could be worse.

Tiserias: <I wouldn't curse the world just yet, it may laugh at you once more... fate is no Idle plaything young master...>

Acheron groans slightly, as he continues his fishing. For he hadn't had the happiest life. When he was young, his own parents abandoned him with his uncle, aunt and two cousins Sildr and Nile as they didn't wish to take care of him. His first Pokemon, a Girafaring he named Shimpapa, was killed and eaten by a wild Luxray pride when he was training it for the first time. When training his Tiserias for the first time, it was blinded by a wild Pidgeot. And nobody, sans the family that raised him, really seemed to care about him. He was just a non-entity to most people. The fact that no-one remember his birthday just solidified the fact.
be worse.

Tiserias: <Have any fish latched on?>

Acheron: ...Nope. Not a Single bite.

Tiserias turns to his master. Although Tiserias was the third Pokemon Acheron caught, he was by far the closest one to his master, as Melinoe was too crazy and Prometheus too aloof to really get close to. Caught in the Slowpoke Well around 2 years ago, Tiserias had be able to work around his handicap of being blind by training his senses of hearing, smell and touch. This strengthening of such allows him to pinpoint attacks with devastating accuracy, making him a vital member to Acheron's team.

The air behind the duo wavers and falters, forming the shape of a purple female Jellicent. As the Jellicent fully forms itself, it slowly creeps behind the pair, hoping to scare them out of their wits. She floats closer, and closer... until...

Tiserias & Acheron: Nice try Melinoe...

The Jellicent frowns and crosses her tentacle-like appendages. Drat, this was the THIRD time today they noticed her before she could scare them.

Melinoe: <Ehehehe, Again? Seriously though, you guys are totally buzzkills! Always raining on my parade~>

Tiserias: <Maybe you should mature from playing pranks and scaremongering Melinoe.>

Melinoe: <Ehehehe... Now why would I want to do that?>

Before Tiserias could reply, Acheron beckons him to drop the subject with Melinoe as he's not in the mood for another argument today.

Now Melinoe was technically the second Mon he owned, after Shimpapa. But because of the painful memories that arises when people talk about Shimpapa, he tells others that Melinoe was the first Pokemon he owned. Melinoe was a gift he received from his cousin Sildr after Shimpapa's untimely death and the Pokemon that convinced Acheron to be a collector of shiny Pokemon. A fan of pranking people and scaremongering, Melinoe was the troublemaker of the team and often times, the most frightening. Somehow, the team puts up with it.

The area has fell silent. The boy and his two Pokemon are just staring in the distance now, not really caring about the fishing. The silence remains until Melinoe decides to break it.

Melinoe: <I'm bored, can we do something else? Heh...>

Tiserias: <Something else? Like what?>

Melinoe: <I dunno...> -Melinoe looks around for inspiration. After glancing at the tower, she gets an idea. <I know! Heh, why don't we climb the tower! That should be less boring that this~!>

Begrudgingly, Tiserias would have to agree. Of course, anything would be more exiting that sitting on a bridge- wasting time. He telepathically tells Acheron Melinoe's suggestion and adds that he agrees with her too. Acheron sighs and puts the Fishing Rod back in his bag.

Acheron: Sure, let's explore the tower. Maybe something cool will happen there...

Melinoe: <Horray~ Time to talk to some ghosties~ and scare a few passer-bys! Ehehehe...>

Acheron rolls his eyes and Tiserias shakes his head as all three walk into the Tower, not aware that today would bring a strange turn of events.

...Oh? You would like to learn about the rest of his team? Very well then.

His remaining team comprised of a Male Houndoom named Prometheus, a Female Shiny Milotic named Persephone, a Shiny Male Kingdra named Proteus and a Shiny Male Gengar named Phantasos.

Prometheus was the 2nd Pokemon Acheron caught and the only member of his team that is not Shiny. Prometheus is a rather intelligent Pokemon with a personal code of honour that keeps him bound to the rules of fair play, unlike most of his dark type brethren. However, he is not the most social of mons and prefers to keep a distance from most peoplemons, even the trainer he swears his life too.

Persephone was the 4th Pokemon he owned. Found abandoned in the Celadon pool on his initial travels to Kanto on the basis that she was ugly and useless. Persephone evolved soon after into an incredibly beautiful and powerful Milotic. Though her vanity knows no bounds, she secretly has a strong inferiority complex from being abandoned due to her perceived ugliness. It's due to this she will attack without warning those who insult her looks.

Proteus was a lucky capture from Acheron's trip to Unova. Everything about Proteus is slow, from his attacks and battle style to his own speech patters. Despite this, he is also one of the more powerful members of Acheron's team and has proved his battle prowess countless times. He is also deathly afraid of Melinoe

And lastly, there's Phantasos. A Gengar Acheron received from his other cousin Nile just before his travels around the Kanjoh region. Phatasos is... well, a rather odd Gengar. He wears a tuxedo, constantly checks the time with his gold pocketwatch with his right arm and hugging his Arceus plushie "Marcellus" in the other arm. Speaks with an over-exaggerated, nearly Shakespearian tone of voice. He is often considered the Runt at the End by his team members. Secretly though, he wishes he could travel the world with a slight different trainer, the the odds of that aren't likely...

"Oh Bassy, I do love red the most. Hair, clothes, lipstick, I love them to be red. The more flamboyant a woman is, the more she's as beautiful as a poisonous flower, right?"
