-A certain raven-haired teenager is leaning against the monument in one of the plazas, glancing around and occasionally checking his Poketch somewhat anxiously.-
Herbert: Come on, when's he going to show up...?
-what a surprise!-
Joseph: -from behind Herbert- Hai!
-Herbert jumps upon hearing Joseph behind him and whirls around.-
Herbert: Ah, there you are! Finally. I was starting to wonder if I was being stood up or something.
-He scratches the back of his neck.-
Herbert: So, uh... did you have anything in mind?
Joseph: Well, dinner? Movie? Zeppelin?
-Herbert shrugs at Joseph.-
Herbert: I dunno, I... I've never done this before. Been on a date with a guy, I mean. That is to say, a guy who's actually a guy. As in, physically. Not that I have much experience with girls either, but it still feels kind of weird. So, uh... your call, I guess.
-His cheeks become steadily redder as he talks.-
-Joseph grins-
Don't worry, Herbie! We can just go to dinner, and nothing bad will happen! It's really like dating a girl! Erm, I think...
-Herbert continues to look rather anxious.-
Herbert: Yeah, I guess you're right... it shouldn't be that different. I mean, girls are just like guys, right? Only with boobs. And... other girly things. You know what I don't know where I was going with that comparison so I'm just going to leave it there.
There...are other differences, but the gist of it is the same! The point is, if there's a big difference, I'm closer to you, so there's no reason to worry!
Herbert: Right. Yeah. No reason to worry. I'll just keep telling myself that.
-He scratches the back of his neck again.-
Herbert: Anyway, you know a decent place to get dinner? I still have no idea where everything is around here. This place was clearly built by someone who hated the directionally challenged.
There are restaurants, but they're expensive! There are cafes, though...
After arriving at the hotel Sakura went straight to making dinner.
-Herbert gives Joseph a small smile.-
Herbert: Hey, money's no object. I'll pay. Consider it my treat.
-Joseph grins-
Oh! OK! I think I saw a restaurant this way!
-he runs off in a direction-
-Eskay blinks, and pokes his head just outside of the hotel room to see Carol-
Eskay: Carol! Hi!
-Herbert rolls his eyes at Joseph, then follows behind at walking pace.-
Herbert: What's the rush? You're not in a hurry to get this over with or anything, are you?
Carol: Hiya, Eskay! What's cookin'?
-Joseph doesn't stop moving-
You know me, Herbie! Gotta go fast!~
-Herbert sighs, then takes off after Joseph at a light jog.-
-Joseph stops in front of a restaurant with three stars on the front-
How about this one?
Herbert: So long as they have a vegetarian option, it'll do just fine.
-He heads into the restaurant and takes a seat at one of the tables, poring over the menu.-
Herbert: Hmm... the salad looks good. You?
Oooh, I dunno! There's so much...
-thinks-
-Herbert gives a rather coy smile from behind his menu.-
Herbert: We could share a bowl of spaghetti or something. Not that I'd ever suggest something so cliche, of course.
-Joseph grins back-
But it seems like you just did~ No backsies on that sort of thing!
Eskay: Oh, um, Sakura's trying out a new recipe, and she's letting me try it. And um...
-He blushes, glancing down at the ground-
Eskay: ...We're dating now. Just thought I'd spread the news, since, y'know, you're here and it's relevant.
-Herbert gives Joseph a strange look with a hint of a smile still present across his mouth.-
Herbert: What are you talking about? Clearly something like that was your idea.
