Zeal: W-wait a minute...
-Lanie notices Ren's appearance.-
Lanie: ...And just who might you be?
-Iulianus barely glances up from his tablet before looking back down.-
Iulianus: That doesn't matter in the slightest, see? Please, visitor, leave us at once...
Copperfield: -to Crow, Zeal, Lanie, and Alice- ~Crow, shut the door, then fake unconsciousness. Zeal get Lanie in the SEP field. Alice, ready yourself for battle just in case Ren is swarmed.~
-Ren calls out Kitsune, Seamstress, and Gamma-
Ren: -to Lanie- I'm Renard Clavis and I'm a J-Team member who was asked by your brother, Zeal, to bust you out. -to lanie and Iulianus- So I don't think I'll be leaving until then. Kitsune.
Kitsune: <Sweetie?>
Ren: Chap with the tablet, there. Five rounds rapid.
Kitsune: <Of course>
-Kitsune fires five volleys of nine fire balls in Iulianus' general direction.-
Kitsune used Dancing Embers!▾
Triton: ...Wait, I don't know if I can close the door and faint while pretending to be on their side, if that's what I'm supposed to be doing.
...But should I break cover or could it be useful later?
...I don't know! Bleh!
-Crow elects to just pretend falling unconscious, though it likely isn't especially convincing-
Zeal: Hang on, I want some idea of what's going on before I—
-The fireballs move towards Iulianus. Iulianus ducks and covers his head, sweating.-
Iulianus: Wh... What are you doing?!
Zeal: What...? Gah...
-One of the fireballs sets Iulianus' coat ablaze. He quickly tears it off and throws it aside.-
Iulianus: St... STOP! Please... no... No more! ...please...
-He cowers, his face filled with terror.-
Lanie: ...He's defenseless.
-Alice is still present under Belladonna's SEP field, but up until this point has been hesitating due to her confusion. Now, though, she turns to Belladonna.-
Alice: Drop the field. If the Commander tries anything, then-
Belladonna: ~Yadda yadda Psyshock his ass into next week yadda yadda. I get the drill.~
-Alice then turns to Lanie.-
Alice: I would sincerely appreciate an explanation at this moment in time. Make it forty words or less, to decrease the risk of interruption.
Lanie: Alice... right...? How...? Why...?
-A single tear runs down the side of her face.-
Lanie: I didn't want one of you... to see me like this...
-Alice looks at Lanie for a moment, then gives a sigh, running her hand down her face.-
Alice: ...What happened here, Lanie? Are you alright and in a fit state of mind at present?
-Ren stares at Iulianus, but does not command another attack.-
Lanie: Please... leave me alone... there's something I have to take care of before I can go back... And I don't want you to have to see it...
-Alice closes her eyes.-
Alice: ...The Commander. He took you captive because he believed that you were responsible for the deaths of several members of his personnel. He was mistaken... correct?
Lanie: No... He... He was...
???: He was right.
-A man wearing a yellow mask is suddenly in the room.-
Iulianus: That voice...! Wound...!
-The man turns to face Alice.-
??? Wound?: And who the hell are you?
Ren mon even the ones under a SEP field ready themselves
Una: -to Crow- ~I'm going to take you "hostage" so you can be absolved of blame just in case.~
-Using Psychic Una floats Crow next to Ren, keeping a Psychic aura around him.-
-Alice's shock at Lanie's response is short-lived as she wheels around to face Wound.-
Alice: ...I could ask you the same question. To provide a temporary answer, I am someone who has an Exeggutor ready and able to mulch your Commander's mind if you so much as raise a finger against me.
-Wound? begins to clap slowly, laughing.-
Wound?: Heh. You really think that's the real Iulianus? Some Psychic you've got there. 'Sides, wouldn't it make more sense to threaten me than him? For all you know, I could want him disposed of.
-Alice backs away from Wound?, now looking distinctly less certain, and throws a glance over at Belladonna.-
Alice: Bella? What are you sensing here?
Belladonna: ~I'm sensing that we should probably be getting the hell out of here right about now.~
Wound?: I know what you're thinking... But don't bother trying to run yet. I've got a couple of questions I want answered first, alright?
-He smiles at Alice condescendingly.-
Wound?: Can you do that for me, at the very least?
-Alice's hand starts to edge towards her remaining Pokeballs, though she doesn't take her eyes off of Wound?.-
Alice: Be ready to act at a moment's notice, Bella. For all we know, he could easily be bluffing, but even so I would rather attempt delaying tactics than direct action.
Belladonna: ~Got it.~
Alice: ...Very well then. What would you like to know?
Wound?: I'll start with something simple, then... How did you get in?
Alice: By taking advantage of the fact that your security guards apparently trained at the same academy as Imperial Stormtroopers.
Belladonna: ~...Aren't snarky pop culture references more Lucius' thing?~
Alice: Be quiet, Bella, I'm trying to focus.
-Ren's mon redouble their efforts to strengthen and maintain the SEP field around themselves and Zeal.
Wound?: ...Fair enough. I'll see to it that they're replaced.
-He puts his hand on Lanie's shoulder. Lanie says nothing and continues crying.-
Wound?: Now I'm guessing you came here because of this girl, right? So, then... How are the two of you connected and how did you know where to find her?
Alice: We are... acquainted. A friend of a friend notified me that Cipher may have taken her captive, requested that I retrieve her, and provided her last known location. From that point, finding your facility was child's play.
Ren: I offered my assistance as going in alone is never a good idea.
-Wound? looks over at Ren.-
Wound?: I see... I was going to question you next, but you saved me the trouble. Thank you for that.
-He turns away.-
Wound?: And I doubt I could get either of you to join Cipher... not that doing that would be a good idea anyway, with the current state of things...
-He turns back around and glances at Iulianus?, who still seems terrified.-
Wound?: Buuuuut... I'm sorry. I can't just let you leave with her. There's no doubt about it, she's the one who's been offing us scientists. I can't just let her go, knowing that.
Ren: Still, we have a schedule to keep.
-Una relay Ren's thoughts-
~Got any ideas Alice?~
