Topic: WAAPT Contest Thread

The Contest Thread

This thread is for the Contests that the PCs take part in the WAAPT's canon. Any player can have a character participate in a contest however they choose.

-Contest have to portions; the Appeals Round and the Battle Round. Only 8 to 16 coordinators may move on to the Battle Round. Winner of the battle round is declared the winner and receives the Ribbon.

-Contests will be done mostly in the style of the anime with a few elements from the games or the main RP added in.

-The Appeals round will be done like they are in the anime, but have to demonstrate at least one of the Five Contest Categories from the games.

-Props can be used for appeals. All props should be smallish and/or easily moved.

-Any form of outside interference means immediate disqualification.

-Mon on stage can not have contact with audience or judges in any form or fashion.

-A single volunteer can be used for an appeal, the mon can not inflict any harm whatsoever to the volunteer. The volunteer can not be a plant. If the volunteer is discovered to be a plant, this results in a disqualification and/or revoking of a ribbon.

-The Battle Round will be like the anime with the "points gauge" that empties as a player's mon are shown up by their opponents, and fills as they show up their opponents, perform a particularly good looking move, or being stylish in general. Since the points gauge was rarely used to decide a winner, the gauge shouldn't present of much of an issue RP mechanics-wise, but don't forget that one can lose if their mon perform poorly enough.

-In case that this thread is used for more than one Contest simultaneously, players should [tag] their posts as to which their posts belong to, as it will help keep confusion to a minimum.

Now with the intro out of the way, let's kick off the first contest of the thread...



Goldenrod City, Near the Contest House, The Saturday before Halloween

-With a blip, Ren, Kitsune, Rio, and Copperfield appear. Ren looks up at a large building with a glass dome.-

Ren: Well here we are, Goldenrod City's Contest House. -to Joseph- There is an entrance for coordinators over on the side of the building to enter from. There are rooms for prepping our mon and getting dressed there.

Kitsune: <Then let's go! I want to get my costume on!>

Rio: <Why the rush?>

Kitsune: <So Ren can undress me later!>

-Ren blushes bright red and face palms.-

Right outside the Contest House

Two lovebirds are perched on one of the streetlamps by the parking lot entrance, watching around.

Copahue the Fearow♂: <...I'm worried that Silent is not here yet...>

Harriet -scouts around: <...I'm more worried about Shahinne. She said she'd meet us here...>

The two birds observe as some cars get in and out. What they don't immediately notice is that one of the cars parks right before their streetlamp, and the door opens...

-Ren walks up to the coordinators entrance and shows his and Joseph's contest passes to the guard, who lets them in-

-Ren hands Joesph the contest pass he got for him.-

Inside Contest House

Shahinne pays one of the accomodators with a $5 bill and "suggests" that she and her adoptive parents should get somewhere close to the front row, and with food to the table to boot. Meanwhile, a somewhat despodent Silent walks in with Python draped around his neck.

"Okay, this is the day Ren said. I guess we can watch how this goes out. I haven't watched a contest in a long forever... and the invitations are too good to pass up."

And goes to his accommodations, greeting whoever is already there.

-Seamstress' eyes glint in concentration as her forelegs gleam and spins some silk. Then, in a flurry of movement, cutting, and thread pulling,  extra cloth falls to the floor and Joseph's Shirt, coat, and pants. They have also been been expertly, hemmed.

Ren: -While putting on a Ranseian Ninetales demon themed ensemble on Kitsune- Joseph can I have Hecate back? I need to get her ready.

Contest Hall, auditorium

-A jovial male voice booms out off the speakers-

Announcer: Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, and mon of all types! In just a few minutes, The Goldenrod Contest Hall will present to you a Exhibition of Master Coordinators and their partners as they make stunning appeals with no move restrictions! Please make you Way to your seats as the house light will be dimming soon. For the guests sitting in the VIP boxes, please enjoy complementary snacks and alcohol-free beverages. To our other guests, refreshments are available in the lobby. And please remember to that no food or drink is allowed in the main auditorium. Also, cameras and recording devices are allowed, but please turn off their flash functions, as it could prove dangerous for the performers. Thank you all for coming to the first contest of this season of Johto's Pokemon Contests! Have a good day and enjoy the show!

Martin was all decked out. Red tux over a white shirt with a black tie; with white pants and black shoes. A blue violet-like flower was pinned to his jacket, and as usual, he continued to wear his sapphire charm.
