I just noticed:
Shinies are showing up a LOT.
Like, a WHOLE LOT.
I've never even SEEN an unscripted Shiny before, and this (relatively) small group of leakers have found several, of different species.
Have they messed with the shiny formula? Because I don't think a 1/~8100 chance would pop up this often.
What Straw said, probably. The player in-game always comes from the same place, but they get different Vivillon forms.
I'm sticking with whatever my regional variation of Vivillon is if Crow or Maggie ends up getting one, though they probably won't be getting one next arc because I've got a different moth in mind.
And huh at Drasna.
Huh, how fitting.
With all these shinys popping up, I hope that means the shiny rate is increased.
So far this is my team in Y:
* Splinter the Froakie
* Ignition the Fletchling.
* Torchic
Just beat Viola. Vivillon isn't that bad for a starting bug.

And with that all out of the way, let's see how fun this game is!
Preliminary stuff: Some of the cry changes irk me, and the wild battle intro is a little long, but other than that I'm really liking this gen.

I caught Satan the Scatterbug. :P I imagine him speaking in Satan from Wreck-it Ralph's voice.
It's pronounced "Sat-EEN", Straw.
I find it so cute how my Player Character wakes up in a pink pajamas at the beginning of the game. :3
Also, just caught my first Pokémon with Nova the Fennekin's help, a Fletchling I named Arrow. He has a gentle nature, and apparently takes a lot of siestas, so I guess he's a lazy little bird. :P
Going to see what else I can catch, seems to be a lot of variety here for being the first route one can catch things on.
Edit: Caught myself a Pidgey too. Now, what should I name him...?
The Pidgey, who I named Anvindr after a quick look at names on that website Crewe recommended to me a while back, has the ability Tangled Feet, and an Impish nature.
I found a Dunsparce. Not sure what to name it.

WMG: All the golden Bisharp busts at Parfum Palace that speak of a Bisharp general that led a legion of Pawniard are referring to Edge before he went on to Unova.
Finally found a female Scatterbug after running into about seven male ones. Time to catch this thing.
That awkward moment when you run into a youngster with the same name as your PC. :P
You know perhaps that wouldn't happen if I didn't use real-ish names for my PC's. Also I am loving the varieties of grass. And how random Pokémon will jump out of you from bushes along the side of roads. What fun!
Named my Scatterbug Mayu, and oddly she has the same Nature and Characteristic as my Fletchling. Guess that means they'll get along well?
Also caught a Weedle in Santalune Forest, named him Sting after a certain Beedrill from my fanfic. :3
Also, Paralyz heal is now called Paralyze heal. Isn't that amazing? Also, just found a Pansage, going to try to catch it.
Found a female Honedge! Arondight has been obtained.
Found this Gen's Youngster Joey! Gotta have one of those in every Gen, after all. :P
