Re: X/Y Spoilers topic

Hmm... I suppose it depends on what the Kalos starters become when they evolve and what other Pokémon will be available that haven't been revealed yet, but I guess I'm leaning towards Fennekin and Squirtle in one game, and Froakie and Bulbasaur in the other, leaving Chespin and Charmander for the third (or one of the third versions if we get two like last time) version.

Also, something I've been meaning to bring up, it is said that Skiddo was the first Pokémon to live amongst humans. Maybe it's just a small thing, but I'm still curious about how we're adding this to our RP canon and stuff.

Re: X/Y Spoilers topic

DS: Unless it's something that I missed earlier, I don't think it contradicts any existing RP canon.

But as for what it could mean...

It sounds like it's quite possible Kalos was where The Vow was brought into being, if the Skiddo Line was the first type of Pokemon that interacted much with humans and it's been pointed out Mega Evolution, which seems to be kind of Vow-dependent from what we've heard of it, so Kalos could end up being central to the bonds between humans and Pokemon in RP canon if we feel like it, if actual canon doesn't head in that direction itself. (Or contradict it for that matter, but I have a feeling that won't necessarily happen until next gen or something.)

If this does end up becoming a thing, though, getting Kalos *somehow* invovled in RtAU would definitely make things interesting, even if it's fairly minor.

Well then. Welcome to the team, Cuyahoga and Iggy. :P

My girlfriend is a Volcarona, your argument is invalid.

Re: X/Y Spoilers topic

I think I might end up with Dune getting a Squirtle. If no one objects to me using the Cloak of Storm's Heart.

Because seriously, what would be cooler than a desperado Blastoise?

230

Re: X/Y Spoilers topic

I'll probably get Squirtle, then drop him/her later for Clauncher or another Water type.

Re: X/Y Spoilers topic

From Serebii:

Pokémon X & Y - Super Training

Pokémon Smash has just aired an example of the Super Training. Within this, it showed clarification of how the known mini-game works, where you have to use the touch screen to fire balls into various parts of Magneton while avoiding large balls as your Pokémon sits on a platform. After completion, you will see a numerical value added to the stat, in this case +8 on Special Attack. It's currently unknown what the numerical value is, whether it's giving specific Effort Values or a new value but we'll provide details as soon as we can
Edit @ 00:30: In the trailer for next week's episode, it also showed a battle where Mewtwo Mega Evolved while promising a shocking revalation about Mega Evolution, but they covered up the result of the evolution, with the host Shokotan seeming shocked. We'll get more information on this throughout the week so keep checking back.

Re: X/Y Spoilers topic

I'm likely to get Chespin and Charmander, if Clauncher evolves into a mon based on a mantis shrimp. Otherwise, Froakie and Bulbasaur.

Re: X/Y Spoilers topic

So, if Inkay really does evolve by leveling it up while holding the 3DS upside down... How exactly are we doing to translate that method of evolution into the RP, assuming that's really how it does evolve?

234

Re: X/Y Spoilers topic

Erm... that's an excellent question. Maybe... um... the trainer and Pokemon have to both be upside down for the duration of a complete battle? Like, with a large or psychic Pokemon holding the trainer by the ankles?

235

Re: X/Y Spoilers topic

I'd assume the Pokemon itself would have to be upside-down.

My girlfriend is a Volcarona, your argument is invalid.

236

Re: X/Y Spoilers topic

Yeah, that's probably how it works in the anime and such too.

Mega Garchomp

237

Re: X/Y Spoilers topic

OK, if we're getting Mega pesudos I want Mega Metagross SO BAD.

Throw in a Mega Volcarona while you're at it.

Also, Fairy type chart is interesting. Ammy will >:( at it resisting Bug.

Though I hope that rumor about Steel isn't true, even if Lina's reaction to it would be priceless.

Yay at finally having a tyrannosaur and sauropod!

Starter evos are awkward-looking. Then again middle stages always are.

Re: X/Y Spoilers topic

Oh, hey, leaks.

Looking at the starter evos, I have to say I'm liking Chespin's evo. Froakie's is okay and Fennekin's in kind of eh. And wonder if they'll be getting secondary types for final evos or just keeping pure-types leaning in one direction.

Was kind of surprised by Mega Mewtwo X. I wouldn't be surprised at this point if Mewtwo has a role in the story with how much they've been promoting it and such, though I could be wrong. And Mega Garchomp appears to be very much a mole. Not sure if I like its design much, though.

Also, new fossils. The Diplodocus is probably my favorite of the two, and an ability that turns Normal-type moves into Ice-type moves sounds interesting.

And seems you can apparently customize the appearance of that white creature we saw earlier which is apparently a dog. Huh.

Oh, and a Pokemon that changes movesets based on Gender, wonder how much like or not like Nidos it'll end up being.

And not shown, but says they have a Fairy-type chart. Unconfirmed but... Super-Effective against Fighting, Dark, and Dragon, not very effective against Fire, Poison, or Steel. Weak to Poison and steel, but resists Fighting, Dark, and Bug. And is immune to Dragon. I think that sounds kind of interesting, especially being weak to the two types that have the fewest strengths besides Normal. Didn't expect immunity to Dragon-types, though. (Also, if they were right about Steel no longer being resistant to Dark and Ghost, that certainly makes things interesting.)

EDIT: Also, just noticed. All of the mention of what seems like Megas and New Abilities in the pages, yet no mention of Mega Kangaskhan. Wonder why.

And it also seems like so far, I'm the only one who likes Chespin's evo. Huh.

Re: X/Y Spoilers topic

Wow, Mega!Garchomp. It's funny, because I was already thinking "Does powerful Pokémon like say, Garchomp need Mega evolutions?" before I even knew about this. Well, I suppose it looks kind of cool.

And Mewtwo's alternate Mega form... The first thing I thought was, "Wow, Mewtwo, your legs are huge!" Aside from the long legs, I guess it looks somewhat cool.

Also, we finally know what our adorable little Kalos starter will evolve into, or at least their middle stage.

* Chespin's evolution... not sure what I think about it.
* Fennekin's evolution seems to be going for the sort of humanoid lady-like fox look, and seems to have a stick poking out of  its tail. Looks pretty cool. Wonder what its final form will be like? (I bet someone is probably going to compare this thing to Renamon)
* Froakie's evolution... Wow, it looks really cool!

Also, we've got two new fossil mons. A rock/dragon T-Rex and another type of dinosaur which is rock/ice. Interesting typings, especially the latter one.

And now the identity of the white Pokémon briefly shown is revealed. Another dog Pokémon, which I guess is nice.

Ooh, psychic kitties! No, not you, Espeon. Seems there's a new psychic cat Pokémon that doesn't only have different designs depending on gender, but the two genders also play differently. Very interesting.

So, Fairy is super effective on Fighting, Dark and Dragon (cue random Hydreigon crying out in despair) and not effective on Fire, Steel and Poison. The Fairy type is also weak to Steel and Poison (the rumors were true!) and resists Dark, Fighting and Bug, while being completely immune to Dragon. (obligatory joke about the RtAU dragons never having stood a chance)

Random Sylveon: :3

Random Hydreigon: <N-No! Stay away from me!> (drops a Draco Meteor on the Sylveon)

- Smoke clears to reveal the that while the surroundings may have taken damage, the Sylveon is sitting there perfectly unharmed -

Random Sylveon: :3

Random Hydreigon: (stares blankly)

Also, there's a rumor that Steel has lost its resistance to Dark and Ghost? Interesting if true, I guess...

And more info about customizing the PC, yay!

And Team Flare, or the Orange Guys as I like to call them, is looking to create a beautiful world? Let me guess, the money they are after is going to be used in some way to make a device that will allow them to do something involving Xerneas or Yveltal? Or maybe they'll just go around and give random trainer's Pokémon makeovers and then ask the trainer to pay for it despite not having asked for it? :P

Team Flare member: (runs up, puts a long blonde wig on a trainer's Garchomp) "There, much better! That'll be 50 pokedollars!"

Garchomp: <...?>

Re: X/Y Spoilers topic

The Fairy type is also weak to Steel and Poison

Lemme just be the first to say...

I FREAKING CALLED IT! WOOOOH!

EDIT: Just realized that Selene is going to be in the paradoxical position where she'll be immune to the poison condition but take extra damage from direct poison attacks.

Dune: Assuming Cleffa line's types get retconned too at least. Though it'd be kind of weird if they didn't, so yeah.

Re: X/Y Spoilers topic

Dammit, Garchomp. Stop this evolving nonsense, you're already perfect.

New evos...Froakie's is pretty much the coolest thing ever. Chespin and Fennekin are a little awkward, but hopefully will grow out of it.

Mewtwo's second Mega Form looks very buff.

The new mons seem cool. It's nice to have a customizable poodle, and the kitties look huggable. The dinosaurs, meanwhile, are adorable and there is a high chance I will acquire the sauropod, both in-game and in-RP.

Type-chart stuff...neat. Would be interesting if the Steel thing is true.

And yay for a beautiful world! No wonder their outfits are better.

244

Re: X/Y Spoilers topic

Just looked at the two new fossils. I'm probably going for the T-Rex, if only because I've been itching for a Dragon type for a while now.

245

Re: X/Y Spoilers topic

Yeah, with the reveal of the new type chart, reality warping becomes more and more of an inevitability.

Froakie evolution eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Also I totally called Fairy being weak to Poison and Steel and resisting and being strong against Dark, that means that Xerneas has a natural advantage over Yyvetal as well =P

Re: X/Y Spoilers topic

This is all I have to say about the Chespin Evo.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA.

Seriously, that thing is hilarious. In a good way. I love Fennekin's evo. Reminds me of a witch. Froakie's definitely looks like a ninja.

Also, I like what is probably Meowstick. Female form reminds me of Fennekin for whatever reason. The Rock/Ice Diplodocus is cool too. The T-Rex is kinda eh.
