-Shard seems to be caught unawares and is knocked off of her feet by the Earthquake. S, being down on all fours already, is able to maintain her balance and get herself upright, her eyes darting around warily.-

Shard: What the-

S: Heads up, we got company!

-It quickly becomes apparent that she is not referring to Finn, Triton, and Persephone, but rather a Skarmory swooping overhead that drops a purple-clad costumed figure onto the sands. He quickly adopts a combat-ready stance.-

The Auric Avenger: Hmph, I knew Illusion would return to the scene of the crime. Wasn't expecting to find an Admin here, though. Looks like this might end up being a fair fight after all.

Shard: ...Superheroes. Of course.

The Auric Avenger: Superhero, actually. Singular.

Shard: Really? Good. Makes this a lot easier.

-She sends out Stalactite, who promptly hits the Avenger in the chest with a Flash Cannon and blasts him backwards into a sand dune.-

The Auric Avenger: Oof! Son of a...

-Shrike screeches and descends upon Stalactite with claws extended as S carries on with her job almost as if the interruption had never occurred.-

-They all look at the battle happening between Shard and the Auric Avenger-

Finn: <...Heh. Been waiting to see one of them get their due.>

Triton: <...Finn, you know we need to go and help him.>

Finn: <Why? He's the head of those superheroes, isn't he?>

Triton: <Yeah, but... Titan said he needs to come back alive, which I don't know if Shard will do.>

Finn: <Hm. Fine, guess I'll do something.>

-He rushes down towards the battlesite, shaking the ground with another Earthquake-

-Meanwhile, Crow stays back and sends out Gogie, who is also wearing a Turquoise Domino Mask-

Gogie: <Uh, what's going on with the plan, Triton?>

Triton: <It's being edited slightly, hold on.>

-Crow opens up his bag on Gogie's back and starts looking for his Neo-Galactic suit-

"Welcome. Do you have some... b u s i n e s s?"

-S is sent staggering by Finn's Earthquake and wheels around to face the source of the threat.-

S: Didn't know this guy had a Garchomp too... Purrloin, deal with him!

-S' Purrloin lazily picks herself up, gives an exaggerated yawn, then pounces at Finn with Fury Swipes. Meanwhile, the Auric Avenger tries to stand up, only to be thwarted by the Earthquake. Shard takes advantage of his temporary helplessness to form an Obscura kunai in her hand and hurl it at him.-

-Persephone projects Finn's thoughts at all those nearby who aren't Dark-type-

Finn: ~I'm not his you know.~

-He is struck by the Purrloin's Fury Swipes, taking a bit of damage-

Finn: -to the Purrloin- <Let's see how you deal with my claws!>

-He tries to hit the Purrloin with a Mole Claw-

-After a bit of struggling, Gogie and Crow, in his Neo-Galactic Uniform appear at the top of the hill they've been hiding behind-

Triton: "Sorry to interrupt, but I'm afraid I can't let you do that, Shard Fox!"

-They try to move down towards the battle, but as Crow does not fit the measurements of the suit anymore, even with some impromptu methods to make movement better, is still flopping around not at all like a normal human when trying to move-

"Welcome. Do you have some... b u s i n e s s?"

S: You know I don't really care, right? Even if you're not on his side, you sure ain't on ours.

-Her Purrloin is struck by the Mole Claw and sent flying, mewling helplessly. Meanwhile, Shard is distracted from the struggling Auric Avenger by the sight of Triton attempting to make his way down the hill.-

Shard: ...What on earth is that thing?

S: Whatever it is, it's wearing an NG uniform! Hit it!

-Shard attempts to hurl another Obscura kunai at Triton, only for the Auric Avenger to take advantage of her distraction by surging to his feet and tackling her to the ground. The two end up rolling around in the sand, each trying to keep the other pinned.-

-S meets Finn's gaze coolly before glancing back over at Shard's brawl with the Auric Avenger.-

S: You two might wanna quit tearing each other's eyes out for a moment. Seems like our opposite numbers fancy a quick chat.

-The two ignore her for several moments until Shard is finally able to blast the Avenger away with a Dark Pulse. She stands up, giving Triton a dark glare from behind her visor as she does.-

Shard: I-

-She catches herself.-

Shard: ...You're correct.

-It is at this point that the Auric Avenger recognises Triton's Aura and gives a scowl. Incidentally, Shard's Aura is masked by the Aura Disruptor attached to her belt.-

The Auric Avenger: You... I'd ask you what you're doing here in that uniform, but in all honesty I don't care. This is my business, not Neo-Galactic's, and I don't have time to deal with traitors right now. Now get the hell out of here and if you're lucky I'll consider letting you off the hook for this.

Finn: -to the Auric Avenger- ~If you want to talk about whose business this is, Neo-Galactic was interested in taking down this machine long before you did and I offered you and your friends to help and didn't get anything until your enemies showed up.~

Triton: -to the Avenger- "Hm. What sounds more like a traitor to you, someone who offers to help someone who's at a disadvantage, or someone who turns on that person as soon as they're saved? And how is what I'm doing so much different from you anyway?"

-to Shard- "Anyway, your emotional problems aside, you lost your machine when it blew up. Withdraw now and you won't have to see your emotions fly yet again."

"And, as long as I'm here... I believe you have something that doesn't belong to you. I'd appreciate if it went back to its rightful owner."

-Closer inspection would reveal that Shard is not in fact wearing her stolen Mega Ring at the moment. The Auric Avenger's expression darkens as he looks from Finn to Triton in turn.-

The Auric Avenger: I'm not taking orders from an emotionally dead madman, that's the difference.  Look, I don't have time for this right now. Get out of my way, or I won't hesitate to take all of you on.

"I'd think it would be easier to meet that goal together, but if you're as stubborn as you normally are, I guess I'll have to deal with that. Just know that if anything comes of this, it's your doing."

-Gogie sighs and gets ready-

"Welcome. Do you have some... b u s i n e s s?"

The Auric Avenger: Fine. If you're not going to get out of my way, then it looks like I'm going to have to finish this before you can interfere!

-In one sudden movement, he surges forward and delivers a well-aimed Force Palm to Shard's face, breaking her gas mask's visor with a crack. For a second, a deep green eye is visible through the shattered lens.-

Shard: No!

-She staggers backwards, hands shielding her face. S, now seemingly barely conscious of the claws at her throat, ducks under Finn and charges the Auric Avenger, catching him off-guard and slamming him to the ground with a body tackle.-

-S is knocked off of the Auric Avenger by Finn's Tackle and sent sprawling, giving a wheezing laugh that soon turns into a cough thanks to the sand.-

S: Heh... some ruthless enforcer you turned out to be. Those claws of yours just for show or something?

-She hauls herself to her feet, turning to the still-recoiling Shard.-

S: C'mon, Shard. Let's cut our losses and get out of here. This is grunt work. Someone else can take care of this when these wackos are out of the picture.

-She sends out a Natu which promptly blips the pair away, along with Stalactite - who was still duking it out with Shrike in the background - and S' Purrloin. The Auric Avenger slowly manages to get up, glaring at Triton and Finn as he does.-

The Auric Avenger: Great. You scared them off.

Pueltown - 9/8/14

-As she emerges from the hotel, the purple-clad girl may find herself being addressed by somebody perched on top of the awning.-

Lucius: Boo.

The Auric Avenger: I knew Illusion was going to send somebody to either replace or salvage the machine, so I was going to shake them down for the schematics. That, and there was a slim chance I might bump into whoever wrecked this thing in the first place, and I'd appreciate the chance to talk to them sooner or later. Or at least, that was the plan until you lot showed up. What were you trying to do here? Titan send you to assassinate Shard or something?

The Auric Avenger: ...You do know who I am, right? I don't kill. That's like my one rule. I was trying to knock off her mask because if she's so concerned about keeping her identity hidden then ruining her disguise would be an excellent way to keep her distracted. And turns out it was, at least until you jumped in.

Lucius: Thanks for the support. It's slow going so far - if you ask me, the therapists there aren't half as good as you are - but I reckon that I'm long overdue for some professional help.

I don't want or need help from Neo-Galactic - need I remind you that they're the very people I'm trying to fight?
