Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

PEFE Inquisitorial Court - 2014-09-12

Jacob: The prosecution would like to remind you that they are also outside of PEFE jurisdiction as well as within it, but acknowledges the point that within PEFE they are not to be bothered.

-Drumming his fingers on his desk again- And hello Shieldmaiden. You realize you're at the trial for Lawrence and Lucius Cain? The defense was hoping for your testimony.

-Bows- Mr. Flight, if you will take if from here to prepare your witness.

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

PEFE Inquisitorial Court - 12/9/14

-Lucius nearly jumps out of the dock upon Shieldmaiden's sudden appearance.-

Lucius: Ah! Oh, um... hi, Shieldmaiden. I'm, uh... well, I'm kind of on trial here. They want to hear about what happened during the whole Neo-Galactic raid. Specifically, they want your version of events. Not really sure why, honestly.

-Lawrence gives Shieldmaiden a small nod, but doesn't speak or otherwise acknowledge her.-

Shieldmaiden: ... Oh. Well. Wasn't expecting that one.

-she gives Lucius a small glare-

Shieldmaiden: ... I guess the cat's out of the bag on you, then, huh? I'll talk to you later. But I guess I can testify. Should I just... start talking?

Phoenix the Talonflame: -to Shieldmaiden- <Well, we're in a recess now, but when it's over you say your name, occupation, testify, then let the Prosecution cross-examines you.>

<...At least, I think that's how it goes, I don't summon witnesses often.>

-Lucius rubs the back of his neck.-

Lucius: Out of the bag to everyone in this room, at least. I'm not sure how they're handling this publicly, but it doesn't really matter, seeing as I don't intend to go back to masked vigilantism again. And I'm not really sure how this is supposed to go either... they just called a recess so that you could prepare your testimony and all that, but I guess you already know what you're going to say.

Shieldmaiden: Oh, okay, strange bird. That doesn't seem too hard. Just say what happened at the Neo-Galactic raid?

-she pauses, then places a hand on Lucius's shoulder-

Shieldmaiden: I've been worried about you. How've you been doing?

Polly: The events of this trial will not be publicized, but a gag order is also unlikely.

The witness will be permitted to use appropriate pseudonyms, and the prosecution is to refrain from irrelevant speculation on the witness's identity.

The court may have questions of its own after the prosecution finishes.

Shieldmaiden: That's what friends are for.

-she drops her hand, then looks around, before settling on Polly, who seems to be the main authority here-

Shieldmaiden: Okay. Should I just start now?

Jacob: I ask that the court not make assumptions on what I'm going to do. The prosecution has no interest in this girl's identity at present. Only the truth. If however, her identity becomes necessary to finding the truth...

-Suddenly back to his stoic position- The defense prove my assertions.

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

PEFE Inquisitorial Court

Shieldmaiden: ... All right then.

-she takes a deep breath-

Shieldmaiden: Um, my name is Shieldmaiden, and I'm a superhero. A member of the Auric Avenger's team. Well, it was his team at the time. Now I guess we don't really have a leader. But anyways, we all knew the Avenger wanted to take down Titan. We all wanted to take down Neo-Galactic, because they're evil, but also because they were sending these goons out to take us down. But a few of us found out that Titan wasn't in charge of Neo-Galactic anymore, his Admins had taken over and left him as a figurehead. We tried to convince the Avenger that when we raided the Neo-Galactic base, we should focus on the admins instead of Titan, but he didn't believe us. He got angry when we insisted that using her best opportunity to cripple Neo-Galactic to take down Titan was a bad plan, so he ran off on his own to do it himself.

-she glances at Lucius, then away-

Shieldmaiden: Well, we knew he'd do something stupid and get himself hurt in the state he was in, so we decided that I'd go ahead to try to keep him safe while Shingeko led the rest of the team in executing the plan we'd originally established. I teleported to the Neo-Galactic base and met up with the Avenger while Titan got on the PA system to tell all the members of Neo-Galactic that were still loyal to him that the admins had overthrown him. I followed the Avenger through the base, and we eventually ran into Titan, and the two decided to battle to settle their grudge once and for all. But when he sent out his Alakazam, he... he snapped his Infernape's neck. Titan said she was still alive, and he'd surrender himself if we got her to the hospital. The Avenger was... surprised, and didn't react right away, so I teleported us to the hospital in Pueltown, where Omega got help and Titan got arrested. That's... pretty much all that happened. I don't really know what happened to Shingeko and the rest, I didn't see them.

Shieldmaiden: He was originally, but the admins took over.

-she turns to Phoenix-

Shieldmaiden: Um, they have a weird name that I can't remember. It sounded like 'executor'. But anyway, they're these guys with teleporting mons and shock batons and armor and stuff. They were specifically equipped to attack the superheroes.

-she glances at Lawrence-

Mr. Fox: I still think that me taking down those grunts they sent after me solo heightened the sense of urgency...

Ren: You would claim that the you pioneered obscura techniques if you could Fox. You were just lucky there isn't a lot of info about you and they didn't send competent people after you.
