Psyche nods. ~i know the feeling exactly. Like right after my breakup, I wanted nothing more than her to be back in my arms, but at the same time, I wanted to rip her arms off.

-Lucius manages a small smile as he adopts a faux-offended tone.-

Lucius: What, are you saying that nobody thinks I have what it takes to be a superhero?

Pueltown - 3/8/14

Lucius: It's more than that, though... people expect me to just forget about the bad times, to put them behind me, but I just can't do that. As in, physically can't. No matter what I do, those same emotions always end up resurging sooner or later.

-He sighs.-

Lucius: Ugh, I'm probably not explaining myself very well. Still, at least I know that there's somebody else who actually understands now.

Psyche nods. ~Believe me. I know exactly what you mean. The only way I've managed to survive this long without snapping is massive levels of repression and careful Mindscape manipulation.~

Psyche blinks. ~I mean, with great power, comes great responsibility, right? Isn't that what those comics always say? Shouldn't I do this?~

-Lucius' expression is stern, but there's a hint of something softer behind his near-permanent scowl.-

Lucius: The question is whether or not you're ready to wield that responsibility in the first place. If not, then you're nothing more than a danger to yourself and others.

Rasp Cavern - 28/7/14

-Without even checking the room for any other occupants, a rather battered-looking Lucius (still in costume from the neck down) staggers in and slumps down against the wall.-

Lucius: Dear Arceus, I never wanna see that Neo-Galactic insignia again for as long as I live...

-He doesn't appear to realise that this isn't his room.-

Rasp Cavern - 28/7/14

-Lucius glances up at the sound of the noise.-

Lucius: Huh? Oh, hey... you must be one of the wild cave mons. How'd you get in here? I thought I had my Porygon-2 lock the place down to prevent any unauthorised access...

-Again, he barely appears to be aware of what's in front of him, yet alone his own Aura Sense.-

Rasp Cavern - 28/7/14

-Lucius blinks. Then he blinks again.-

Lucius: Sarah? But you're... okay, how did you end up like this? All Croagunk-y, I mean. Because after a few whacks to the head with a stun baton I can't be sure that what I'm seeing necessarily reflects reality.

Rasp Cavern - 28/7/14

-Lucius raises an eyebrow.-

Lucius: ...Stuck? What do you mean, stuck? That's impossible... isn't it?

Lucius: The Frog Prince...? That's the one where...

-He gives a thoughtful grimace, which is a rather unique expression to behold.-

Lucius: ...Eeugh. Well, I can't say I'm overjoyed by the prospect of a reenactment... but if there's a chance that it might get you back to normal, then it's worth a try. Put it this way. Is the prospect of me kissing you so terrifying that you'd rather remain a Croagunk your entire life to avoid it?

-Lucius gives a restrained smile.-

Lucius: Then let's get this over with.

-He stands up, picks up the frogified Sarah, and gives her a quick peck. The fact that he's screwing his eyes tightly shut might detract from whatever romance is in the air somewhat.-

Rasp Cavern - 28/7/14

-Lucius slowly opens one eye, then the other, then gives a disappointed sigh.-

Lucius: ...Dammit, I just risked a slow death by poison for nothing. I guess things can never be that simple... but there's gotta be some way to get you back to normal. Whatever it takes, I'll do it.

-He sits down on the bed with Sarah in his lap, deep in thought.-
