Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Vientown Ranger Base - 31/8/14

Titan: ...Ah. I understand.

-He doesn't say anything more, but gives Crewe's hand a brief squeeze before turning back to Crow.-

Titan: I would, yes. But that is not my decision to make.

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Vientown Ranger Base - 31/8/14

-Titan bows his head.-

Titan: That would depend on whether or not the Rangers allow them to be released at this moment in time. That, and Crewe has already made it evident that she would be uncomfortable with doing so. These are matters that are better left for the future, Crow. I have been incarcerated for barely a day. I still need some time to... come to terms with my situation.

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Vientown Ranger Base

Crewe: If they'll give them to me... I can release them. Or something. But I shouldn't take care of them. I can't.

-she lightly squeezes Titan's hand-

Crewe: Should I go?

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Vientown Ranger Base - 31/8/14

-Titan closes his eyes.-

Titan: ...Perhaps that would be best. Your company is appreciated, but these are sensitive matters that would perhaps be better left untouched until we have had time to recover from the events of the last few days. There is no need for you to burden yourself with problems that I have brought upon myself. I will contact you should I need to update you on my situation, and of course, you are both free to visit at any time you wish.

Vientown Ranger Base

Crewe: Okay. I'll talk to Tangent and see if he can help at all... Good bye, Titan. Dad.

-she gives him a small smile-

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Vientown Ranger Base - 31/8/14

Titan: Farewell, Crow.

-He looks back up at Crewe, returning her smile.-

Titan: Please, call me Lawrence from now on. I would rather leave the memory of my service to Galactic and its successors behind me.

759

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Vientown Ranger Base

Crewe: ... Heh. Between you and Lucius, I should start going by Helen if I want to fit in.

760

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Vientown Ranger Base - 31/8/14

Titan Lawrence: You are free to go by whichever name you prefer.

-He smiles again and lowers his voice slightly.-

Lawrence: Even Shieldmaiden, if you insist upon continuing your nighttime escapades.

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Vientown Ranger Base

Crewe: Well. I think I'll stick with Crewe. Though you could call me Helen if you wanted to. I don't mind.

Crewe: ... Speaking of those escapades, I just remembered I'm supposed to meet up with the rest of them to regroup after the raid, since our fearless leader went AWOL. I'll visit you again soon, okay?

Lawrence: Goodbye for now, Crewe. Hopefully our next meeting will take place under better circumstances.

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Vientown Ranger Base

Crewe: ... Yeah. Hopefully.

-she drops his hand-

Crewe: Bye, Lawrence. I'll see you soon.

-she turns and leaves the station-

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

-wherever Lucius is, he may receive a text-

To: Fruitcake

From: Crewe

We need to talk.

Pueltown - 1/9/14

-After a few minutes, Crewe's message eventually receives a response.-

To: Crewe

Yeah. You're right. I'm in my room at the Pueltown Hotel. Meet me there.

From: Lucius

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Pueltown Hotel

-bwaCRASH!-

-a Sneasel appears on Lucius's shoulder-

-she quickly leaps off, shifts to human form, then turns around and throws a punch at his face-

Crewe: I can't believe you! First of all, where the hell do you get off just standing around doing nothing while a man begs you to save his dying Pokemon?! I don't care who he is or what he's done or how you feel about him, nobody deserves to have their Pokemon die.

Crewe: Second of all, you do not get to be angry on my behalf, Lucius Cain. You don't know what happened in Orre, because you weren't there. You didn't see what I went through, and how Titan risked himself again and again to help me, and got me back with the team sooner than any of the rest of you could have! Whatever wrongs Titan did to me, I forgave him a long time ago, and that means that whether or not you did too, you do not get to hold that against him.

Crewe: And finally, when the fuck are you gonna learn to stop attacking your friends? You're an Auric for crying out loud! An empath! You know exactly how what you do affects other people, and you're still either too selfish or too stupid to bother changing! In what world is the first thing you do when your friend's in the hospital to go and lecture them about how they didn't handle their crisis to your liking until they cry? Not to mention valuing your own stupid grudge so highly you ignore all proof that you're making a bad decision and go ahead and put not only your life in danger, but all your friends', too? The only reason I'm willing to be here right now is because our father asked me not to give up on you, and because I don't give up on my pack so easy. But let me tell you, you are trying my patience. And you need to grow the hell up before everyone else wises up and leaves your sorry butt behind.

-she folds her arms and glares at him, her rage mostly spent-

Crewe: So do you have anything to say for yourself, or should I just leave?

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Pueltown Hotel - 1/9/14

-Crewe's punch catches Lucius off-guard and sends him crashing to the floor, his head impacting against the end table with a heavy thunk. It takes a few moments for him to recover and fully take in Crewe's rant. As he looks up at her, it becomes obvious from his pale complexion and baggy eyes that he hasn't slept in several days.-

Lucius: ...I... I'm sorry. I know it's not enough, but there's no excuse for the way I behaved. None at all. I'm an idiot, taking you and all the others for granted, treating you like dirt, letting my moronic hard-on for vengeance put you all at risk... you shouldn't be wasting your time on me. Not after how badly I messed up. Again, I'm sorry... that's all I wanted to say, really. You can go now...

768

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Pueltown Hotel

-Crewe groans, rubbing her eyes-

Crewe: Ugh, you... why do you always have to be so pathetic whenever I want to yell at you?

-she walks over and sticks her hand out to him-

Crewe: Get up, fruitcake.

769

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Pueltown - 1/9/14

-Lucius takes Crewe's hand and slowly hauls himself to his feet, looking for all the world as if standing upright is something he can barely manage.-

Lucius: Because I am pathetic. I let myself get so caught up by my urge for revenge that I turned into the kind of monster that I ought to be trying to stop, and I never realised until it was far too late... I don't deserve to call myself a hero. Not after all the reckless and destructive acts that I tried to call justice...

770

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Pueltown

Crewe: Yup. You are a truly phenomenal idiot, a huge jerk, and a terrible leader. So what are you gonna do about it? 'Cause just moping around ain't gonna cut it.

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Pueltown Hotel - 1/9/14

-Lucius slumps back down onto the bed, the effort of standing having clearly been too much for him.-

Lucius: What can I do? Just apologising isn't enough, especially since the others don't want anything to do with me... not after I nearly got them all killed saving my sorry ass. And I can't go back to being the Auric Avenger. Even if I wanted to, I couldn't...

772

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Pueltown Hotel

-Crewe stands in front of him, hands on her hips-

Crewe: All right, enough with the defeatist attitude. You decided to be a hero because you wanted to make the world a better place, right? So do it. You don't want to be the Avenger anymore? Fine. Go to the cavern, apologize to the rest of the team, and put Shingeko in charge. Then you can go to everyone else you've wronged and apologize to them. Then stop with the self-pitying crap and do something worthwhile. Fight Illusion. Join the Rangers. Go on another Pokemon journey. I don't care what you do, just do something good. But first there are apologies you need to make.

773

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Pueltown Hotel - 1/9/14

Lucius: I... alright, I'll go back to the cave. Leave the heroics to people who are genuinely heroic. After that... I think I know what I'm going to do with myself.

-He gets to his feet again, giving Crewe a weak smile.-

Lucius: ...Thanks, Crewe. I needed that.

774

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Pueltown Hotel

Crewe: Yeah, well... you're my friend. And my brother. Not to mention I'm at least as big an idiot as you are. So I forgive you.

-she hugs him-

Crewe: Good luck, Lucius.

775

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Pueltown Hotel - 1/9/14

-Lucius hugs Crewe back, and for a second the glint of tears is noticeable in his eyes.-

Lucius: At least I can promise that you won't have to deal with my idiocy for much longer.

-He pulls away, then gathers up his belongings and heads outside.-
