Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Peril Cliffs - Just in case you've forgotten already, this is still the distant past

-Epsilon is knocked out by Regina's boosted attack and promptly recalled by Titan.-

Titan: Your determined adherence to a philosophy that will only result in your inevitable destruction only serves to bolster my belief in the evils of free will. Whilst I can pursue my goals, I will. If this means that you and I are locked in conflict for eternity, then so be it.

-He sends out Iota.-

Iota: <O hai! I remember you. Wow, we haven't talked in aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages.> :3

Titan: Iron Head, Iota!

-Iota starts spinning around rapidly before attempting to slam herself into Regina.-

Rasp Cavern - 29/8/14

-The Auric Avenger folds his arms in return.-

The Auric Avenger: ...If you don't want to be here, then you know where the door is. We're going after Neo-Galactic, and as the guy in charge, Titan's our main priority. Hopefully we can take them both down if at all possible, but the way I see it, Neo-Galactic's like a zombie - when you've only got one shot left, you ought to be aiming for the head instead of the arms. Now then, will you be coming with us, or would you rather sit this one out?

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Rasp Cavern 29/8/14

Gekkobi:  ...Boyfriend?  -The visor hides his face, but it's still pretty obvious he's confused-  Whatever.  Shingeko, the squad and I should be able to figure some way to help the Emperor get their attention.  I'll run it by them

-He pauses as the two other heroes start to debate-

553

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Rasp Cavern

Shieldmaiden: You idiot, Titan's not in control anymore! And the only reason you refuse to acknowledge that is because of your grudge against him! Going against him is a waste of time and energy! We should be taking out the admins before we waste a break-in on Titan and give them a reason to shore up security!

-she glances at Gekkobi-

Shieldmaiden: You'd better believe I'm coming. Somebody needs to keep you from getting the whole damn team in trouble.

554

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Peril Cliffs - Far Enough In The Past That It Looped Back Into The Future But Still In The Past So It's The Present!

Jacob: How many under you share your beliefs? How many follow you to change the world? How many follow you simply to use your resources to abuse them? Indeed if we are to battle for all of time, let it be. I will win, either out of brute force or because your own goal will collapse under it's own unsupported weight. Regina!

Regina: -Is hit by the Iron Head, falling to just above half health, the damage dampened by the repulsive force her presence exudes- <Considering at the time I couldn't speak at all, I believe you are confused.>

-She grabs Iota' with both hands and fires Shadow Balls straight into the Metagross' eyes-

Jacob: What is the point? The human spirit is imperfect, but it's also what gives us room to grow and the strength to finish these goals. A world without the potential for that kind of growth would burn itself down, stagnate. You're too focused on why you feel you need to do to consider anything that might go wrong, any other possibilities! What if a world without spirit only spawns only more evil? What if it takes what's preventing the dark and decrepit from running wild? What then?

555

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Peril Cliffs - But being in the present would make this entire scene out of continuity!

-Iota is blasted backwards by the Shadow Balls.-

Iota: <Ow ow owie! That really hurt!> :3

Titan: That is a risk I am perfectly willing to take. I have committed myself to my goals. You condemn me for adhering to a cause even when you yourself are similarly dedicated, simply out of a misguided belief that you maintain some form of moral superiority. I will soon prove that you are mistaken. Meteor Mash!

-Pulling further backwards, Iota readies a hefty punch before swinging at Regina with all her might.-

Rasp Cavern - 29/8/14

The Auric Avenger: Oh, so I'm the one being blinded by their feelings towards Titan, huh? That's rich, coming from the girl who's willing to overlook everything he's done just because he was nice to you once! I think I have every right to hold a grudge against a man who's killed, maimed, stolen and lied time and time again! We have a chance to cripple Neo-Galactic for good, and I'm not going to let your blindness sabotage the efforts of our entire team. You can either fight at my side or get crushed under my heel, but you won't get in my way.

-He spends a couple of moments seething before turning back to Gekkobi.-

The Auric Avenger: Look, you know who I'm talking about. You know what you're doing, so hop to it. Sorry you had to see... well, this.

556

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Peril Cliffs - WE'VE CREATED A TIME PARADOX

Jacob: How much more will you sacrifice? You have given up everything except this dream, and in doing so have gained nothing but enemies and pain. When will you learn? When will you stop and look back instead of forward and decided if what you're walking towards is worth all that you've left behind? Regina, put that thing down!

Regina: <Gladly!> -She focuses all her power on the area in front of her, slowing Iota down to the point where the Meteor Mash hits her still, but with only a fraction of it's power-

-When she relaxes again the sudden dispersal of energy blasts Regina back into Jacob and knocks them both over-

557

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Rasp Cavern

Shieldmaiden: Ugh, you are impossible! When Neo-Galactic starts killing people because you wasted our attack on their base by yelling at your dad, it'll be your fault, and the rest of us will have to clean up your mess.

-she storms off-

558

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Rasp Cavern - 29/8/14

Gekkobi:  I'll leave the debate over Titan's humanity with you two, I've never known the guy personally.  But I can't see this being very successful if you two end up arguing the whole time

-He slowly stands-

Gekkobi:  Not that anyone asked my opinion.  But I'm here to protect innocent people, not to play judge, jury or executioner.

-And with that he calls out his Natu again and blips back to pueltown-

559

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Peril Cliffs - NUUUUUUUUU

Titan: If I have to bear this burden in order to spare the world from further suffering, then I consider that to be an unfortunate necessity. Iota, follow up with Metal Claw!

-Despite being slowed, the Metagross surges forward and attempts to tear at Regina with her claws.-

Rasp Cavern - 29/8/14

-The Auric Avenger sighs as Shieldmaiden and Gekkobi depart, leaving him alone in the cave.-

The Auric Avenger: (...Tomorrow. Come tomorrow, Titan will finally be behind bars, and there'll be no need for us to have this debate again and again and again... it'll be over. After eight whole years, it'll all be over at last...)

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Rasp Cavern -- The period of time in which most people are most relevantly in Rasp Cavern

-A Murkrow flies in-

Helmaroc: <That took longer than it needed to... I'm not late, am I?>

[Spectrum was here!]

561

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Rasp Cavern - 29/8/14

-The Auric Avenger looks up at Helmaroc as she flies in, forcing his voice to remain level.-

The Auric Avenger: ...No. Not really. You didn't miss anything important. The gist of the plan is that I've given the Blue Emperor everything he needs to keep Titan's Excubitors tied up whilst I go after the man himself. You can either tag along with me or help out with the distraction. Either way, it'd probably be easier if you were a Honchkrow first.

562

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Rasp Cavern -- At the raspy, caverny time

Helmaroc: <I figured, that's what took me so long.>

-She switches to human and pulls out a Dusk Stone-

Helmaroc: I figured you'd be a better judge of that, though.

[Spectrum was here!]

563

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Rasp Cavern - 29/8/14

-The Auric Avenger takes the Dusk Stone from Helmaroc and turns it over in his hands.-

The Auric Avenger: Well, there's nothing stopping us from getting this out of the way here and now. Want me to do the honours?

564

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Peril Cliffs - YES

Jacob: Then I have no regrets about this. Regina!

Regina: <Sorry about this...!> -As Iota hit her, she takes quite a bit of damage, falling to a third of her health-

-She also creates a Shadow Ball big enough it looks like someone stole the planet off an Atlas statue and coated it in black malevolent energy which she then slams into Iota-

565

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Rasp Cavern

-Helmaroc nods, switching back to Murkrow-

Helmaroc: <Hit me.>

[Spectrum was here!]

566

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Peril Cliffs - YOU MONSTER, YOU BLEW IT UP

-Iota is unable to take the second megacharged hit, and is recalled.-

Titan: It is impossible to live one's life without regrets. You have to keep moving forward, committing yourself to a cause wholly and without doubt, or else you will be consumed by the shadows of the past. Omicron, take to the field!

-The Dusknoir emerges from his ball, looking bored.-

Titan: Strike her down with a Shadow Punch!

Omicron: <How startlingly original. I bet you were up all night planning that one out.>

-He lazily swoops down upon Regina with an Obscura-coated fist.-

Rasp Cavern - 29/8/14

The Auric Avenger: Gladly. This might sting a little...

-He presses the stone against Helmaroc's forehead.-

567

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Peril Cliffs - THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING

Jacob: That's true, there will always be regrets. And you must keep moving forward but... Without doubt? Entirely committed? Even if you realize what you're moving towards isn't worth it? What if you realize the path you walk isn't the path you want? Every member of my family has gone through that. My dad, wanted to be a Frontier Brain, became a scientist. My mother, thought working as a scientist was dull, tried being a Interpol officer, changed to a simple housewife who dabbled in technology after a while, my many greats grandfather, Celzvet, though he wanted to save the world from darkness by uniting it under him, then became an insane gold Bisharp and tried taking it over through force, now is just content to watch. My brother, raised on taking orders and taking lives, now is trying to make the world a better brighter place free of men like who he used to be before turning himself over to be executed. Me, thought I just wanted to battle all my life, wanted nothing but the power to win and crush and persevere. But now... now I just fight to learn what I'm fighting for. For now, that's a future without you.

Regina: -Disarmingly reacts delayed to Omicron, and as he swings at her snaps past his arm and holds her hand out by his head- <Maybe should have thought a little harder.>

-And fires a Shadow Ball into it-

568

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Peril Cliffs - THE BEGINNING OF THE END, YOU MEAN

-The Shadow Ball to the head sends Omicron hurtling backwards.-

Omicron: <Hey, I'm not the one in charge of tactics here, lady.>

Titan: You freely admit that you lack purpose. That you oppose me not because your convictions drive you to do so, but because the culmination of my ambitions would render your search for some meaning in this broken world of ours pointless. How can you live your entire life searching for an aim which you may never discover? To die young is unfortunate, but to die unfulfilled is the greatest tragedy of all. Omicron, Curse.

-Omicron nods, draining his own life force in order to lay a curse upon Regina.-

569

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Peril Cliffs - MWUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Jacob: You realize the very future you aim to create will make everyone die like that! No spirit, no emotion, no drive to be fulfilled. You want a world of soulless machines carrying out day-to-day tasks necessary for the world to keep turning, but nothing else! Everyone will die unfulfilled, no one will have any meaning! I do have purpose, even if that purpose is simply to find a greater purpose, and to ensure that everyone else gets a chance to find their own. I suppose I oppose you because my convictions do drive me to, or rather the potential convictions for all those whom I fight for. Regina, return! -Recalls Regina as she staggers from Omicron's curse and sends out a Tyranitar-

Regina was withdrawn! Discord was sent out!

Discord's Sandstream Whipped up a Sandstorm!

Discord's Gaurd Bracelet set up a personal Lightscreen and Reflect!

Jacob: Go, Discord! Crunch!

Discord: -Looks over Omicron- <Now then, LET'S HAVE SOME FUN!> -Rushes the Duskinoir and tries chomping down on him-

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Peril Cliffs - THE END IS NEVER THE END IS NEVER THE END

-His health already reduced by the curse, Omicron is easily taken out by Discord's Crunch.-

Titan: Of course I realise the realities of the world that I would create! When my plans finally come to fruition, I will be able to create a world without death. A world without fear, without pain, without suffering or evil. Compared to that, what is the death of something as flawed and imperfect as emotion? Omega, end this!

-He sends out his Infernape, who gives a wide grin beneath her mask.-

Omega: <Oh, hello again. Who do I need to break today?>

Titan: Close Combat, now!

-Omega leaps upon Discord and pummels every inch of him that she can reach.-

571

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Rasp Cavern

-One glowy-tingly feeling later, the newly-evolved Helmaroc stretches her wings.-

Helmaroc: <Whoa, it's been a while since I've felt that... huh. I'll have to spend the rest of the time until the attack getting used to this, I guess.>

[Spectrum was here!]

572

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Peril Cliffs - The End Indeed Is Near The End Is Near The End

-Discord faints instantly-

Jacob: -Sends out Regina- Okay now we end this.

Regina: <....>

-Gives a big smirk at Omega-

<Oh I've been waiting a long, long time for this.>

Jacob: Regina... have fun.

Regina: <Gladly.> -She draws energy from within herself and focuses her mind-

573 (edited by Herbert40k 2014-08-30 03:14:45)

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Peril Cliffs - Now that's just nonsensical.

Omega: <As have I. It's good to see that you're so cheery about the prospect of immolation. Most other Pokemon seem rather disturbed by it.>

-Without waiting for Titan's orders, she fires a Flamethrower at Regina.-

Rasp Cavern - 29/8/14

-The Auric Avenger nods, slumping down against one of the cave walls.-

The Auric Avenger: You go do that, then. I... I think I need some time alone. (Not that I have much choice in the matter, seeing how I've driven away everyone who'd be willing to spend the night with me... but if it's what I have to do to take down Titan, then I can live with that.) We'll go over the plan again in the morning. Make sure you get a good night's sleep. You're going to need it.

574

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Rasp Cavern

Helmaroc: <Right... See you in the morning, then, Avenger.>

-She flies off further into the cave-

[Spectrum was here!]

575

Re: Herbert40k's Wrap-Up Thread

Peril Cliffs - Oh Yeah? Well... your face! Is. Nonsensical.

-The fire bathes over Regina-

Jacob: Titan. What's the point of just forcing perfection on everyone? I can see why you want this world... but... The warmth in one's chest when the squeeze the hand of someone they live for, the bitter cold of regret as they no longer can, that... almost solar feeling of happiness responsive to making someone's life better... yes emotion is flawed, it is imperfect, but it's also what makes life worth living. Some people have no sense of self, and only find reason to live through others. Some have no reason and spread pain because of it. This would not change in a world without emotion. You'd take ALL the good out of the world and only a little bad, without solving any of the real problems.

-At that moment the fire parts as a telekinetic wave tears through the fire and seizes Omega-

Regina: <This is for when you and Titan first snagged me.>

-And she yanks Omega over to her to deliver a point-blank Psychic that nearly cracks the the width of the cliff face-
