Sarah: It was nice to see you girls again.
-She glances at Psyche-
Sarah: ~We need to go talk to Ellen now, I think...~
Caroline nods. ~Indeed.~
They begin looking for her.
-Ellen is curled up here.-
Ellen: I'm not graceful... I never was graceful. I'm not at all "ladylike", so why are they trying to make be be?
-An older, similarly redheaded figure flickers into view.-
Ellen: Reminds me of me. Not being graceful, I mean.
-The younger Ellen blinks at her grandmother, who admittedly looked more like her regular mother.-
Ellen: ...Aren't you supposed to be in Holon or somewhere?
Ellen: I'm taking one of the few chances of downtime I have. Which... isn't easy to come by. But that's not important. Your mothers have been bugging you, right?
Ellen: ...Yeah, they have...
Ellen: Hey, at least you're not following the family trend of fending for yourself during your childhood. I ran away from home to become Champion the first time, your mother had to take care of her sister on her own after I died... This isn't helping, is it?
Ellen: ...Not really, no.
Ellen: I must be getting a bit rusty with my motivational skills. Point is, they've definitely got flaws, but you should at least try to forgive them for the mistakes they make.
Ellen: ...But--
Ellen: Still not a fan of the enforced gracefulness, though. Might want to tell them the other Ellen said so--
-Beep, beep-
Ellen: Darn, didn't get a chance to give any actually useful advice. Curse my busy schedule... anyway, see you, kid. And good luck.
-She fades out.-
Ellen: ...My entire family is weird.
-She heads back down, broom in hand.-
An older Jason walks the halls of the Almian Ranger HQ. Beside him, two children of opposite genders walk with him, the boy, named Duke, with a Swablu on his head, the girl, named Diane, clutching an Eevee.
Jason: Hard ta believe it...12 whole years...
Duke: What do you mean, dad?
Diane: What happened back then?
-Jason chuckles a bit, ruffling his children's hair a little.-
Jason: That's when I had my adventures with a fantastic group of friends. I named you two after some of them actually. They really helped me out back then...I met your Auntie during that time too. And your mother.
Duke: Really!
Diane: That's so cool!
Jason: I'll tell you more about it later. Mom's waiting on you guys. Go on, scoot!
-The children leave the HQ to return home. Jason meanwhile pulls out his X-Transceiver, sending messages to his children's namesakes.-
How have you been lately? I haven't heard from you in a while. Work as a Ranger is still going well on my end. It's actually kinda boring!
Caroline sighs. "She's up in the attic, it feels. Door's probably locked. What do you think we should do, dear?"
She may spy Ellen coming down.
A young Ace Trainer walks into the entrance hall for the Elite Four chambers, admiring the size and scale of the place. On his right side, a Lucario and Gallade follow him.
Ace Trainer♂: Nice place. Grandiose isn't it?
His Lucario and Gallade shrug while the trainer approaches the statue and reads it's inscriptions
Ace Trainer♂: "Four great warriors form this Pokémon League... to the northeast, one who has tamed the wilds with the Normal type... To the southwest, one who has unlocked the mysteries of the Fairy type" Heh.
The ace trainer rubs his chin with a cocky grin.
Ace Trainer♂: A Normal typed trainer? Oh wow, now THIS is something quite unusual. Why this should be a cakewalk for us, wouldn't it boys?
Gallade: I wouldn't know. After all, these ARE the best trainers of the region and it's quite possible that they have a slew of strategies prepared for us. Don't be so confident.
Ace Trainer♂ But confidence is what got me here in the first place. So let's get goin'
The trainer and his mons head to the northeast chamber.
The trainer makes his way into the room, of which he immediately takes notice that the room is stylized to resemble the Safari Zones from various regions. In front of him stops what appears to be a buggy attached to a track.
Ace Trainer♂: Huh, whoever this guy is, he certainly has a flair for interior design.
The trainer steps into the buggy with his mons as the track starts moving, going up what appears to be a hill as some torchlights flare up along the way. As he reaches the top, he notices a young lady sitting at her desk writing something in a book. The woman is in stereotypical safari attire, with the pith helmet and all. She has two long, red pigtails that drape to the floor and are most likely longer than her. Beside her desk lays a floor lamp and globe that appear to be Victorian in design.
Amber: "...And such, ended another frightful journey for Lady Darlsworth and her crew..."
Amber turns around.
Amber: Oh! Why hello there young traveler! I see you have made your way to the Safari Chamber as the first part of your Unova Elite Four challenge~
Ace Trainer♂: Wait, how did you-
Amber: Lucky guess~ Most people choose me first because they assume Normal type is the easiest to beat~
The Lucario and Gallade fold their arms and glare at their trainer, who smiles back sheepishly.
Amber: Over the years I have traveled the world and witnessed many things. Most of which with my best friends who make up this very body of trainers who you are going to face today. I've honed my skills in battling on every continent on the planet! Are you ready for this?
Ace Trainer♂: -Pulls out an Ultra Ball- As ready as I will ever be!
Amber: By the way, you may call me Savannah~
You are challenged by Elite Four Savannah!▾
Ace Trainer♂: Hawlucha! You're up!
The Ace Trainer sends out his Hawlucha, who quickly cracks her knuckles when released.
Amber: Go Heliolisk!
Amber sends out her lightning lizard, who flashes it's frills at the Hawlucha.
Ace Trainer♂: Hi Jump Kick!
Amber: Thunder!
The two Pokemon leap at each-other as the fire off their respective attacks.
Amber: LETS DO THIIIIISSSS!
Ace Trainer♂: ...Gallade, Psycho-
Amber PIDGEOT! QUICK ATTACK!
Cupid: <Of course Lady Amber! Anything for you!>
Cupid zips past the Gallade's attack and rams into him. Knocking him out for the count.
Ace Trainer♂ has run out of Pokemon! Elite Four Savannah has won the battle!▾
The Ace Trainer♂ slumps to the floor.
Ace Trainer♂: I can't believe it...
Amber: In all my years of travelling, I found out that while it's good to be proud of what abilities you do have, one should never get cocky. You have demonstrated to me today that you are quite a powerful trainer, but that your perceived own strength made you unprepared for this fight. Stay sharp, and keep your wits about you! That's how you survive in the wild! That's how the journey continues!
Amber waves.
Amber: Come back soon with a new strategy to put to test, and then you shall beat me! Though next time, go to the Mist Chamber first to see if you really are ready for me~ Adventure is out there!
The Trainer dejectedly walks back into the Buggy and heads back down to the Pokemon Center. Meanwhile, Amber starts rubbing Cupids belly.
Amber: Who was a good, strong Pidgeot today? You were, Cupid~
Cupid: -Chirping- <Aw, it was nothing Lady Amber~> ^v^.
-Before Sarah can say anything, Ellen returns downstairs.-
Ellen: Nothing. I'll be fine.
-Sarah sighs and glances worriedly at Caroline.-
Caroline sighs. ~I wish she would open up to us.~
After a few stays of studying up, training and doing a team swap, the Ace Trainer from a few days ago has made his way back to the Pokemon League to give it another shot.
Ace Trainer♂: Right! It's been a few days since my (rather embarrassing) loss to Savannah. This time, I'm gonna steamroll ALL of them!
The Ace Trainer thinks back to a few days before, when Amber said that he should take on the "Mist Chamber" before fighting her again.
Ace Trainer♂: If what I read is correct, the "Mist Chamber" is where the Fairy master Rémy dwells (That name makes him sound like some prissy, rich Kalosian guy...). Savannah said I should beat him before fighting her... I guess it's to the Mist Chamber I go.
And with that, the man heads towards the southwest chamber.
As the Ace Trainer enters the Mist Chamber, he notices that the room is split into two halves. One side being a steely grey and the other raised area - where the Elite Four member is standing - is tiled a pristine white, giving the appearance of kitchen location. Various shiny steel stovepipes decorated the wall and the ceiling. What appears to be a Sushi Train styled escalator leads up the the tiled portion of the room.
Ace Trainer♂: Wow... This chamber isn't really all that Mist-y. I call false advertising.
The Ace Trainer steps on the train. As the train moves up to the raised platform, the various stovepipes hiss out a sweet smelling pinkish mist, which has enveloped the area by the time he reaches the platform.
Ace Trainer♂: ...I take back my previous statement. It's fitting.
The Ace Trainer begins to approach the Elite Four member, who looks to be in his early 20's. The man is impeccably dressed, with an expensive black waistcoat, white dress-shirt, black suit pants and a bow-tie placed neatly in the center of his dress coat. Around his wait is an equally clean, white apron, indicating this man's career outside of being an Elite Four member. His chin-length lavender hair is neatly combed, except for the one stray cowlick that doesn't seem to go down. As the man turns to face the trainer; his high cheekbones, grey eyes and well kept pencil mustache can also be observed.
Rémy: Bonjour mon ami, welcome to the Mist Chamber. I am it's master, Rémy Beaumont-de Callone.
Ace Trainer♂: And my suspicions are correct.
Rémy leans slightly as he curls his left index finger around his chin as he examines the trainer in front of him.
Rémy: You seem like a very confident trainer, garçon. Of course, one should be confident in their abilities when they've made it this far in their journey to become a Pokemon Master. Though, I have found that many a young trainer tend to become complacent and fall back on the old "offense is the best defense" method when they perceive themselves as powerful enough, hence why it's always important to come up with new strategies. Tell me, do you innovate your tactics often, if at all?
Ace Trainer♂: -Looking away- Erm...
Remy gives a small chuckle.
Rémy: I though so. Do not fret, it's an amateur mistake. However, if you wish to defeat us all, one cannot make such mistakes. While it may be easy just to fall back on old recipes for success, hat will not work in the long run. As a chef, you have to innovate to be successful for a long time. The same old dish, while splendorous in it's design and exquisite in taste, would bore the customers and critics after a while, so you should always find room to try something new. You should experiment, you should test, you should try things that may not always work and you should learn why they did not work. That is what makes a great chef. That's what makes a great trainer. Anyone can be a good artist, but only the fearless can be great.
Ace Trainer♂: Wow, this guy loves the sound of his voice.
Rémy: I am assuming you're here today because you lost badly against my fiancé presuming she would be a cakewalk because of the type she specializes in.
Ace Trainer♂: Yeah- Wait, how did you kn- WAIT, FIANCÉ?
Rémy: I get both of those reactions. A lot. Sometimes even in the same sentence as you just demonstrated.
Ace Trainer♂: Well then.
Rémy: She often sends such trainers to me after she has dealt with them because she knows how much I like to see new and different strategies played out against me.
Remy pulls out a Luxury Ball and releases the Slurpuff inside before smirking at the Ace Trainer.
Rémy: So show me what you've learned~
Ace Trainer♂: With pleasure.
You are challenged by Elite Four Rémy!▾
The Ace Trainer sends out a Steelix.
Ace Trainer♂ Wyrm! Iron Tail!
Rémy: Flamethrower Slurpuff.
The Slurpuff lunges at the Steelix letting off a jet of fire while the Steelix tries to bat it away with a hardened tail.
Rémy: Psyshock Gardevoir!
The Gardevoir lifts debris surrounding the enemy Lucario on the other side of the arena and blasts the canine with it, bringing it down to near fainting levels.
Ace Trainer♂ C'mon we can do this Lucario! Finish the Gardevoir off with a Flash Cannon!
The Lucario, panting, manages to pick itself up and fire a beam of refracted light at the Fairy mon, which bursts upon contact.
Gardevoir: <No... We were so close...!>
The Gardevoir collapses to the ground, exhausted from battle. Rémy smiles as he recalls his Pokemon.
Rémy That was a splendid battle, young fellow. I see that you did learn something from the battle you had with my fiancé. The world is often unkind to new talent, new creations. The new needs friends, and you have demonstrated that maybe you can befriend the new. Today, I learnt something new from battling you just now. There are three more adversaries to face before you can fight the champion, I hope you can learn something from their battles as I have with yours.
The warp panel opens up as the Ace Trainer steps on it and is warped back to the main hall. The mist in the room is blown away by the ventilation system as Rémy sighs. A small Rattata in a pick bow with an Everstone attached runs up to her trainer, scampers up his clothes and nuzzles his cheek.
Emile: <Bonjour Rémy~ How did the battle go?>
Rémy: Not well on my end. As much as I love dearest Amber, she really has to stop sending me her battle rejects after they've wised up. I've never going to keep my position otherwise :P
Emile: <At least your challenges are never boring that way, Remy~>
Rémy smiles as he pets his rodent companion on her head.
Rémy: <That much is true, my dear~>
-Pianis is at his computer, playing a game-
Pianis: 11250 damage? I think I love this game.
-and is interrupted by a Glaceon pawing at his leg-
Pianis: Sorry, I'm kind of busy now.
-the Glaceon responds by hopping up to the desk and standing in front of the screen-
Pianis: I said I was busy. Could you move, please?
Glaceon♂: <I want to talk to mom...>
Pianis: I'll let you talk to her in a moment. Now could you--
-Pianis pushes the Glaceon out of the way, revealing a dead wizard on his screen-
Pianis: ...Never mind.
Glaceon♂: <So can I talk to her now? I miss her...>
Pianis: Yeah, sure.
-Pianis dials a number on his Xtransceiver, and his younger brother answers-
Forte: Hello? Did you need something?
Pianis: Vega is feeling homesick again. Could you put his mom on?
Forte: Oh, no problem!
-a Sylveon walks up to Forte's side of the screen, while the Glaceon walks up to Pianis' side-
Celeste: <Are you okay, sweetie?>
Vega: <No... I miss you and everyone else.>
-Celeste taps the screen with a ribbon-
Celeste: <Aww... I know it's hard, but you have lots of friends over with Pianis, don't you?>
Vega: <Yeah, but...>
Celeste: <Don't worry, sweetheart. You'll get to see me and all your family again soon, okay? For now, you just sit tight.>
Vega: -paws at the screen- <But I miss you!>
Celeste: -sigh- <It's going to be okay, Vega. Just remember that I love you no matter how far away you are. Can you do that for mommy?>
Vega: -nods-
Celeste: -smiles- <I knew you could!>
Pianis: Feeling better?
Vega: <Yeah...>
Pianis: -pets Vega- Good. Thank you, Celeste.
Celeste: <Oh, it's no problem at all.> -hangs up-
-Jason steps outside, gazing skyward. It was times like these he truly missed it, missed those old adventures he had. He sighs, tossing a used coffee cup in the trash, and shuffling back towards the building.-
Jason:Maybe I should take a vacation...take the twins with me...hah. When did life get stale?
-Jason may notice two tan-skinned children with bluish-green hair bickering over something-
-Jason does indeed notice them. He approaches them.-
Jason:Children, children. Is there a problem?
Huh...neat hair color. Wonder if I know them...or their parents, for that matter.
Boy: Nuh-huh!
Girl: Yuh-huh!
-turns to Jason-
Can we ask you a question?
-Jason may notice the boy has more greenish hair and red eyes while the girl has more blueish hair and purple eyes.-
-Jason raises an eyebrow at the strange hair and eye colors, but says nothing about it.-
Jason:Sure! What do you need? I'm here to help!
-Similarly, the children might notice Jason's heterochormia. One eye green the other brown.-
Boy: You have funny eyes, mister. They're like mommy's!
Girl: We wanna know if Gargoyles or My Little Blitzle is the better TV show!
-Jason chuckles a little.-
Jason:I suppose my eyes are a little funny. As for your little dillema...
Duke:Oh! I know, it's Gargoyles! For sure!
Diane:No way! It's MLB!
-The twins pop in right behind the other children.-
Jason: Kids...when did you get here? I asked you two to head home earlier.
Duke:Well, we didn't want to go home yet...
Diane:...and we wanted to talk to you more daddy!
Duke+Diane: So we came back!
Jason:Oh boy...your mom is going to kill me...
Boy: -to the other twins- Hi! I'm Aaron!
Girl I'm Polly!
-The twins both smile.-
Duke:I'm Duke...
Diane:And I'm Diane...
-They say their last name simultaneously.-
Twins:Maxwell! Nice to meet you!
Jason:And they're still fulla energy...
-A redhead sits with her sketchbook, gently drawing a group of Eevee playing nearby. A pair of Seashell glasses rest on her nose as her brown dress flaps in the wind. Many people knew her as Maria Heiden.-
Maria:It's been too long since I relaxed like this...
[The cave is entered by a black haired man in glasses in a distinctive purple coat]
Ah, the Meteor Falls. A frequent spot of falling stars... Or the space debris, as this is what they actually are. Sometimes, meteorites bring beautiful gems inside them. Sometimes, they have more scientific purpose. Bah, no wonder Steven is a frequent visitor of this place!
[beat]
Anyway, there have been some... unusual occurences lately. And my task is to investigate that! For this cave is related to outer space!
[He ventures deeper into the cave's tunnel complex]
-Eridanus may notice a very familiar brown-clad sketch artist on a nearby ledge.-
Maria! How great to see you. What are you doing here, searching an artist's inspiration among these rocks?
Not that it's a bad idea. I mean, some of these rocks came from the outer space as a falling "star".
-Maria adjusts her glasses before picking up the pad again.-
Maria:As a matter of fact...
-A Lunatone and Solrock are nearby. They don't belong to her, but she is sketching them.-
A few of these "rocks" are a bit interesting.
-She has not realized who it is yet.-
[He turns around to notice a floating crescent moon, as well as a sphere, with both made of solid rock. From the sphere's body more rocks come out, shaped as if it were sunlight rays]
Ah, Lunatone and Solrock. Classified as Rock/Psychic Pokémon. These things are capable of levitating, so using an Earthquake on them most of the time would do nothing. Trainers have spotten various objects attached to them. Shards of comets and other kinds of space debris, cosmic dust, frozen water from the comet's tail, fragments of Moon and Sun Stone, respectively, and other things one would find in outer space. So these are likely an extraterrestrial Pokémon. Lunatone and Solrock are associated with Moon and Sun, respectively.
Are you curious as to why I am here?
