Caroline looks around for her balancing books. "Ah, here they are."
She places one on each of the girls' heads.
-Ellen's book quickly falls off her head-
Ellen: ...And this is supposed to help... how?
Sarah: Steadiness and focus. A bit of an unorthodox method, but a useful method nonetheless for teaching a useful skill.
Ellen: ...Riiiight...
-Sarah picks the book back up, and gently places it back on Ellen's head. This time, Ellen actually makes an effort to keep it on, despite her attitude.-
Caroline smiles at Sarah and Ellen. "Posture is everything, Ellen. A proper young lady should always keep her head held high, a smile on her face, and a purpose to her walk. It lets people know that you are someone to pay attention to."
She balances a book on her head and walks to the other side of the room. "Now, once you get the hang of that, girls, come out to me. But, if the book falls off your head, you have to start over. Last one to make it to me sweeps the ballroom~"
-Phosphora attempts to keep the book on her head, but ends up failing. She tries again, wobbling like a sapling in the wind.-
Phosphora: C'mon, c'mon...
-She keeps it up, but not without a great deal of shaking and twisting.-
Dune: We were mainly just passing through, but we'd love to take a look at what you did with the gym.
-Deziree nods her head with Dune before turning back to Duke.-
Deziree: I'd say so. Cooper got a Starly, and Bismond got a Pidgey. Well, more like they found them. It's a long story.
Ellen: I guess I'm sweeping again, then...
-The book falls off her head the moment she starts moving. She sighs, then tries again.-
Jacob: "Right then... I'll let you all talk. Upstairs there's a terrace. Looks out at the lake a little ways away from the gym. I'll go get drinks... And I don't run the individual gyms. That's still left to the leaders. Sure they listen to me and are under my jurisdiction, but as Champion, aside from helping pick out new leaders if such a need arises, or managing the gyms difficulty or safety, I'm rather disconnected. It's still that maze of doors Norman's always had it be." -Takes off his gauntlets and hands them to Regina-
"Take these to Argentum's workshop. I'm not going to be using them any time soon and I think they need some repairs."
-She nods and vanishes, and he takes off his tattered old blue coat and tosses it idly on the floor before vanishing off into one of the halls-
"Honestly being a Champion seems to be just a chore to me. It never appealed to me." said Lyuri, with a shrug.
"I see. We got Ace from Hikari and... Wait, where are them?" asked Duke
Everyone could then notice that Jaden and Ace had already disappeared elsewhere while Jacob was talking.
Lyuri groans "Freaking... If you excuse me, I have a kid to chase before he brings the place down."
Lyuri then starts walking further into the house.
-Dune waves to Jacob as he goes off. Deziree give Lyuri a knowing smile as she goes off.-
Deziree: Is it just the Auric young boys, or young boys in general, who have a habit of running off when no one is looking?
Trinity: -Materializes behind Deziree- "Young boys in general. Actually young children in general. The desire to explore and obtain more knowledge about the surroundings is a quirk attributed to the base goal of learning as much of how the world works and what's in it during a young age."
"... Hello!"
-Meanwhile, there are several directions Jaden and Ace could have gone, they could have gone, they could have run off to the library, up stairs into one of the various bedrooms, the kitchen, or downstairs into the basement which is divided into two rooms, a large pool, a few hot tubs, and a lazy river and a cluttered maze of electronic scraps, at the back of which is a terminal/cocoon like structure with Jacob's gloves suspended in it, and next to the terminal is a monitor with endless strings of seemingly nonsensical babble-
-Meanwhile again, Jacob returns from the kitchen with various drinks-
-Deziree lets out a short "eep!" at Trinity materializing.-
Dune: Hey, Trinity. Staying healthy?
"At the same time that it's a bit annoying, I have to admit that things like this help break the monotony of an everyday life." said Duke, chuckling
Meanwhile, Jason and Ace arrive at the library and begin exploring the place.
Caroline smiles. "Remember girls, heads high, arms at your side, and glide~"
-a white haired man comes in. His hair is longer than it was when he was younger-it's now past his shoulders. Aside from that, there's no change-
Hai! I missed you guys! :D
Caroline smiles and waves at Joseph. "Oh, hey, Joe~ How is? :3"
-Phosphora looks like she's getting the hang of balancing when Joseph comes through the door, sending her whole body tumbling in surprise. Selene jumps up and waves.-
Selene: <Hai, Joe! It's been forever!>
-Phosphora puts the book back on and, focusing intensely, starts walking across the ballroom.-
Phosphora: I can do this... I can do this... focus... fooooocuuuuus...
Oh, everything's great! I have a ton of new mons and they're all wonderful and adorable!
Ellen: What does that even-- Gah!
-Joseph's entry ends up causing Ellen to lose her balance again.-
Caroline twirls over to Joe gracefully, still balancing the book on her head. "Oh? Let me see~ Any cute Psychic types since the last time we saw each other?"
Of course!
-he sends out a small female Ralts, who immediately hugs Psyche's legs and squees-
That's Kate. She's affectionate, and she has siblings!
Caroline twirls, hugging the Ralts tightly. "So cuuuuuuuute~ I remember when little Marcie was this small and adorable~"
Marceline ports in. <Ahem, I'm still adorable.>
Caroline smirks. "When you're not driving me Woobatty."
-Joseph grins. Kate is gushing over Caroline-
<I love you I love you!>
I have a few others! There's Tori about, somewhere, I think. Their mother's off with their brother. She's trying to show him how she can Close Combat.
Caroline huggles. "I love you too, little one! You're so cuddly and cute, and Psychic-y~"
Caroline tilts her head. "Gardevoir can Close Combat?"
-Kate grins-
<You're so pretty and nice and you can teach me how to be a lady and EEEE!>
-Joseph shakes his head-
No, they can't. Her name is Joni, but it used to be Jon, if it helps.
-Ellen fails to keep balance several more times, before giving up. She starts in a direction.
Sarah: ...Ellen? Where are you going?
Ellen: I'm getting a broom...
-Phosphora stumbles and swings around, trying to keep the book up. She's succeeding... but just barely.-
Phosphora: Oh, don't be such a downer, Ellen! It's just finding that - *GAH* - sweet spot! And I thiiiiink... I'm almost... there...
-She looks as if she's about to stand steady with the book balanced, until it begins to tilt again and she has to compensate.-
Phosphora: Darnit!
