I've never been on this level before. I mean, that crater is a new thing. I haven't ever seen that thing before. And I've been here few times already.
[The eyes in the shadows follow them]
Maria:What do you think happened?
Haven't you been paying attention? Something large... or fast as who knows what, fell. It had enough of the impact force to create that crater... and presumably also break through the "roof," even if we didn't notice it. [beat]
If you like drawing... Have you ever considered cartography? That is, drawing maps.
[Yep, the eyes are still there.]
-Maria bops Eri.-
Maria:I have been paying attention...just didn't notice it till now...and I did make a map of some of the regions.
Well, I... like maps. Completing them... It... fuels my curiosity. Maybe it's some kind of OCD, I don't know.
[The eyes move again, but they are noticed]
And what is that pair of eyes, huh? Is it a wild Pokémon? Forge, give some light on that matter.
Forge: <Yar har har, here comes a bad pun. Very well, if that's what you wish.>
[The light reveals a small, white Pokémon, with a large yellow structure on its head. It tries to levitate Phillip.]
??? used Confusion!▾
-Phillip is thrown!-
Maria:Phillip!
-She looks right at the Pokemon.-
And look at what it is! A Jirachi! It's a rare, Legendary Pokémon. [beat] Weird. It doesn't have these blue tags. Legends say people have written their wishes on them, and they became true at one or another point of their lives. I wonder if its lack of the tags makes it different...
Forge: <So you mean there's more than one of these?>
Apparently, that's the case. It's not an unique, one of a kind species.
[Jirachi hides in the shadows]
Maria... do you want to follow Jirachi?
-Maria adjusts her glasses, sketchpad in hand and a determined look on her eyes.-
Maria:Of course, I may never have this chance again. Imma sketch it!
Sketch it? Why not... catch it?
Do you think I am without my Poké Balls? In a place like this... [grabs a certain green ball and spins it on his finger]
A Dusk Ball is an excellent choice!
[follows Jirachi into the unlit part of the Meteor Falls]
-Maria follows close behind.-
[Jirachi is followed, it responds by shooting a ray of stars]
Jirachi used Swift!▾
Gah! [rolldodge] It's a Psychic-type... So we could try talking to it?
-Maria ducks the stars.-
Maria:Then you try! I can't do poke speak that well!
[Eridanus facepalms after hearing Maria's statement]
It's a Psychic-type. It can communicate using telepathy. As in, it can talk within your mind, in a perfectly clear English, and probably any other language it has learned. You do not need to know Pokémon's language to speak to it.
[pushes Maria ahead] Now, you go talk to it. You seem to be the kinder one of us both.
Maria:Wah! Oooh! Why did I marry you?! U-Um...Hello?
Jirachi: <Who are you? W-What do you want from me?! I said, I can't fulfill wishes!>
Forge: <But we're not here for th- [smack'd by Jirachi] Hey!>
[spoiler]Because you love him, silly Maria! :3
Maria:Don't worry, we don't want wishes! We were just curious is all!
Jirachi: <Of what? Curious of what?>
Maria:Well...you don't see Legendaries on a daily basis!
Jirachi: <Still, what do you want from me? You haven't answered that! [sigh] I am not even supposed to be here...>
Maria:Well I was hoping to sketch a picture of you! Why shouldn't you be here?
Jirachi: <Simply put, this is not my destination! I was supposed to be somewhere... there! [points upwards, to the night sky] But... now... I am just... here... and... [beat] Wait, what 'sketch' means?>
...he came... From the outer space...
-Maria turns back to Eri.-
Maria:Seems that way...
-Then back to the Jirachi.-
Well, you can sit still, and I'll draw you!
Jirachi: <D-draw me?! But... Why? What I have done to be... immortalized in a piece of art?>
...immortalized? You know what immortalized means, but you don't know what sketch means? You have a weird vocabulary, Jirachi.
Jirachi: <I know I am different! I don't even have the wish tags!>
And that's why I find you interesting.
Jirachi: <...you find me interesting... even though... I am inferior to other Jirachi... But why? I don't quite understand you, humans.>
Maria:Well, when something is different about a Pokemon, we humans tend to get excited! Because we found something new and unknown!
Jirachi: <And then... what? After you draw me... You'll go... and I'll be here... hiding... once again...>
You know... you could join us.
Jirachi: <But what I'd do with you?>
Hmm... You could just tag along with us until you find your purpose in the life.
[to Maria] He can, can't he?
